Lendl Fully Committed To Andy Coaching Role?
I thought judging from reports that Andy and Ivan were a match made in heaven. From this article in The Times (PPV) I'm left wondering exactly how close the relationship is...
"Yesterday, Murray departed for Britain and Lendl had one last round of golf on
the sand-belt before setting off back to Florida. They will not meet until
the next significant stop on the ATP World Tour, the BNP Paribas Masters in
Indian Wells"
How are they going to work on improvements if they don't even see each othe? Also what does it mean by "one last round of golf"? I thought they were doing intensive training at the AO.
"That the Lendl Effect has already been profound is unquestionable. Lendl will
not say as much, but it was put to him that “Andy’s self-control has been
much better, Andy’s temperament levels didn’t waver, Andy’s performance in
the semi-final against Novak Djokovic was his most compelling in a grand
slam”. He replied: “You know him better than I do, but you are correct in
each case.”
Huh!? Neil Harman (tennis reporter from The Times) knows Andy better than Ivan? Exactly how well does Ivan know Andy?
“If he doesn’t think I’m doing him any good, it
would not make sense to continue and, equally, if something comes up in my
life which means I couldn’t give him the time he requires, he would be the
first to find out,” the former world No 1 said.
What could be more important than guiding Andy towards a first slam. Surely Ivan isn't just biding time until something better comes along?
He does go on to say.
"It’s going to be
important to have some practice time together, almost more important than
the tournaments — some really good training blocks when he is not actually
playing."
But I can't help wondering when exactly they are going to fit in this practice time...

Bit of a reach this time Hawkete, but you may get some bites.
Baits not much good in my opinion.

Nice try Hawkeye but BB is right - too much of a stretch. There are easily found answers to all your queries but you'll have to look them up yourself. Here's to Murray and Lendl and a positive partnership

So is Lendl going to feed and cloth him, instead of Judy?

But but... Isn't Indian Wells the golf capital of the world? Thats when Llendl next plans to see Murray. I suppose if Andy does a spot of caddying Ivan could give him a few tips whilst they walk to the green. As long as Andy doesn't disturb him whilst he's lining up a putt...

"Murray will now enjoy a short break before travelling to Florida for a first training camp with new coach Ivan Lendl instead of facing Slovakia":-
