Newcastle bring in John Wells
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/16824182.stm
Got him signed up along with Gary Gold and Mike Ford. Two members of the much maligned England coaching team. Does anybody think that they will prove to be effective at Premiership level? Personally I like it as a statement of ambition from Semore Kurdi, it may be too late to save us this season, but I am becoming more excited about things in the long term.
Thoughts anyone?

On a serious note...they'll have something to prove aswell as they're reputations are shattered. If they can keep us up....

We are being serious - Man City of rugby before you know it ;-)
Wells and Ford will bring some serious determination to there roles as they have got a point to prove to the rest of England and the players who said such harsh words about them.

Difficult to believe they won't be better than the average AP coaches.
Relegation is still likely, but it looks like the new owner is a good one, and so there probably isn't much to fear from it (indeed as others have observed it could be an opportunity).

Well...
We're 9 points behind wasps...
12 behind Bath
13 behind Worcester
And have 10 games left.
The next is Leicester at KP (LV Cup)...and the following is Bath at the Rec (league)
Final game of the season is....you guessed it WASPS! in London.

True but...they've got no players!!
And by that time we may have already surpassed them...after we demolish Bath at the rec next week....

Re: Newcastle bring in John Wells
As unpopulatr as Wells might be after his time awith England he is about as big a name as a club like Newcastel is likely to draw at this point and has a solid CV.
Getting him on board does show some intent to take things forward rather than surrender to relegation and regress from there.
Its possible for Newcastle to stay up, look at what Leeds did a coupel of years back. Tough call though, it would help if they werent utter dross.

Surely the Sale victory (yes only one game) proved that we arent dross and are capable of a high tempo, excellent game.
Hopefully these coaches can instill some discipline and consistency and we can play this way for the remainder of the season.
The bath game will be a biggy i think...

Whoa lads, hang onto yer cuddies - yer as bad as those Bath supporters who are predicting world domination after beating a second string Saints side in the Low Value Cup.
Yer getting yourselves so excited you'll probably get sick!
Any Sharks fans out there who could give us a view on what sort of side they fielded on Sunday?
I know we put the best side out we could (injuries permitting) but how bothered were Sale?
Is it true that the RVI is now a major sponsor of the Falcons - given the injuries list?

That's the million doller question
I'd scrap all the hooks , none of them seem up to anything.
Props ; Jon Golding , Grant Shiells , Euan Murrey , James Hall
Locks: James Hudson , Tim Swinson , Josh Beamount , AVDH (Not 100% sure thought)
Back rows: Mark Wilson , Will Welch , Joe Robinson , Tuifua
Halfs: Jordan Pasqualin , Joel Hodgson , Tom Catterick , Jeremy Manning
Centres: Connor Uyls , Fitzy , Hufanga
Wings: Fielden , Alex Tait
15: Greg Gooson

I'd prefare him at 10 but i can see him been pushed towards 9 as Chudley and Pilgrim don't seem to be up to much.
Would be interesting to see
9.Hodgson
10.Catterick
