Rhys Gill - what's he like?
Gill is starting for Wales on Sunday, I've never seen him play as far as I'm aware. Can any Aviva/Saracens fans give us a bit of info about his form and ability?

Seemed pretty solid in the scrum against the Ospreys if memory serves.

Is he regular first choice at Saracens?

Rhys Gill has been in good form for Saracens this season. He has established himself as their first choice loosehead.
He held his own well against Ospreys which of course included Adam Jones. He also scored a try at Wembley vs the same opposition.
He has not looked out of place in the AP or HC. He certainly has become an improved player since he has been at Saracens.

Coached by my brother at youth level (he's well chuffed today ) he was more or less overlooked when with Cardiff Blues academy so got a contract with Saracens to better himself which he has.
I think his performances against the Ospreys sealed his selection strong enough in the scrum he still contributes a bit in the loose .

He must have shown up well in the ice chamber to be picked ahead of Paul James. It's a bit of a punt.

Blue,
I don't think its that much of a punt, he has been in good form for Sarries all season and handled A Jones very well in the two games against the Ospreys.
His scrummaging is on par with James which in itself is better than Jenkins and whilst he's not as mobile as Jenkins thats where he has the edge over James.

I am glad he is starting but not so glad that Mitchell is not on the bench. Gill is selected on form. From what I've seen Paul James looks really unfit. He was one of our best players in the world cup warm-ups IMO and was unlucky not to retain his place during the actualy tournament. Saying that, Jenkins showed up very well.

Morg,
Mitchell wouldn't be on the bench as he's an out n out tight head, James can cover both

bedford, apparently, and ive seen him do a good impression of a tighthead, but ive never seen him competently cover that side of thee scrum.
I would have sacrificed tiperic (a bit lightweight against he physical irish backrow anyway?) and included mitchell on the bench.

James is an awful tighthead.
