Anyone putting their hands up higher honours?
Wales have been pretty poor so far, but Ian Henderson, Jack Conan, Paddy Jackson and JJ Hanrahan have all been impressive from an Irish PoV. Jackson (10) and Hanrahan (12) are guys who you could be seeing more of very soon. Jackson already has played in the Heineken Cup, he scored a good try against Aironi.

HT 5 - 3.
It's definitely all Ireland's game at the moment. Wales just need to stop giving away penalties for a start! Davies has been kicking well for them though, but that's not enough.
Ah! They're playing Teenage Kicks - one of the best punk/pop sings ever written!

Welsh defence is very strong but they haven't offered much else they'll hope for a big improvement in the 2nd half.

Re: Ireland U20s v Wales U20s - match thread.
It's really disappointing for Ireland to be only two points ahead. We could have certainly scored more given our dominance and the lack of a confident placekicker just compounds that.
But Ireland have the wind behind them in the second half so we just need to put pressure on Wales, don't let them get any territory and keep doing what we've been doing.

No offence but I seen Jackson last year, he was average then and still is. Your 8, 12 and 15 look good.
Our no.7 is carrying our back row. I can't single out any performers for us, neither could Shane Byrne!
I would like more updates from the England game aswell thanks.

With both Hanrahan and Marshall Ireland look like they are going to be set for good 12s! Both seem like very similar players, and have so much to offer to both Munster and Ulster respectively.

Scotland not playing that bad but England really clinical and react very quickly to mistakes/holes in defence.
Yarde got a hat-trick (Pete will be pleased)
England game can be streamed from the RFU website

(No problem with a link to the RFU stream is there?)

BTW If people want me to stop posting on the England Scotland game just say. I'm just using this thread to keep up to date with Wales Ireland while I watch it.

Chris Farrell from Ulster too. Hes on the bench but looks a good prospect. Hanrahan will end up playing 10 IMO. Hes a super player.

Two penalties to England reversed to Scotland due to chopsy English players. Tutt Tutt. Good to see the ref come down hard on it at this level.

ooh I'm getting excited for the grown up Six Nations now. They're looking at the biggy on Sunday.
Erm...what's the Welsh U20s Team Manager doing talking to the TV people...why isn't he in the change room?

He really shouldn't. He's a natural inside centre. The best parts of his game is his running and passing game so let's not mess him about.

Hanrahan really dies look like the real deal. Our back-row, however, are doing Marmion no favours at all. I think he's been doing well given how much he's had to sramble about for the ball. They need to shape up.
Scrum going surprisingly well. Henderson has been brilliant, which I did not expect.

Could be another 60 pointer for England against Scotland. How embarrassing for the poor Scots. I don't think we can beat England unless we get more players released to us.

A better start from Wales here...but then they give away a penalty and Ireland had the turnover anyway.

Any of the Welsh/Irish players got much time at the regions/provinces? Any of them close to first squad (as in 22/23) places?

Cheers Cari, and thanks for opening the article.
Sooo, Hanrahan is this week's Dave Kearney
Seriously, Kidney has recognised a top performance by putting chilli mk2 into the senior squad. Momentum (recognition) like that can have a real positive effect, and foster belief in a player.

England being sloppy. Pretty much all the game is being played in Scottish half but no more scores.

Paddy Jackson run back and collects the ball and apparently that's superb. Goes to show how overated he is.

Happy Jones is on at 8. A very big unit for an 18 year old and a very good player.

Try coming for Ireland here if they can maintain the pressure, but they lose it, and Sam Davies gets away, but Ireland turn it over again and Jackson kicks it away - good kick.

Re: Ireland U20s v Wales U20s - match thread.
Just seen the most bizaar penalty try. England attacking scrum at 5m. England going forward and ref gives a penalty. Robson gets the ball away but 'deliberately' knocked forward by Scot. Penalty try. Unless it was going to be given for the scrum penalty it's really weird. No way there could be any surety that a try would be scored out wide (other than we're awesome )
3-31

Yeah it is Billy. Ireland almost got over again, but it was saved by a Welsh player. Scrum right under the posts now, and although Wales have possession, they've not cleared it away....oh now they have.

Both sides almost exactly the same in terms of handling errors made. I do think Ireland were the better side int he first half certainly.

Ireland have been totally dominant Hammer they just haven't been able to put points on the board. They've had loads of chances and it could come back to haunt them.

I think it would be Billy. They've had more scoring opportunities than the Welsh! They had two missed penalties at the beginning of the match, remember.
