Re: Bye Lar
Not yet. He'll be back by Easter. Though he is listed as a publican, Lar is an electrician by training and is basically unemployed and has been for about 18 months. It's the last throw of the dice for him and put the s.......ts up the CB. Someone will offer him a full-time job within Tipp soon. If not, it's a very sad indicement of the state of our country at the moment if a top inter-county player cannot get something as basic as a full-time job.

Does him being a top inter county player, have anything to do with getting a job? If he is qualified for a job he could get one. He doesn't deserve a job more than anyone else. I think there are nearly always jobs around. There are just plenty of jobs that people don't want to do or won't make enough money from.
He was a fantastic player though, so if this really is the end, thanks for destroying Kilkenny and de Blaahs a few times Lar, you're a langer for all the stuff you did to Cork though!

Is he emigrating? That's sad. He's a very good player. The effect that emigration is having on the GAA is worrying. I was reading an article in the Indo the other day about a club in Kerry (can't remember the name) that's almost defunct now because 2/3rds of the players from there have emigrated

Are you suggesting that our Lar clean public toilets, or something.
Never, mind he'll be back in June to pee all over you in the semi-final

I'm not saying that at all. I think there are probably some jobs aroudn though. I'm planning to write something about the GAA called "the full time amateur" it will be a bit about the exodus of GAA players too.

This is all a scam by Corbett to either get a cushy job or to get an investor to the pub. If he is not emigrating why can't he play hurling. I cannot believe the amount of people who have been sucked into it.

I agree, this isn't about a row with management. I don't think it has anything to do with the team really. But the papers made something of his absence this moring. Tipp were playing Cork in the McGrath Cup semi in Templemore yesterday. Tipp won after extra time. Apparently they missed 5 clear goal chances. Chances apparently Lar would have taken according to the papers. Nothing about the 29 points Tipp scored. We haven't scored 29 points in yonks. Experimentation I'd say.
Besides, Declan Ryan said Lar maybe back for the championship, also in today's papers. Does indicate that Lar is already having second thoughts?
