Dan Lydiate MOTM
First topic message reminder :
Thank you thank you thank you.
First off R Jones had a stormer at 6 last week and a good game today BUT now people might finally realise how good Lydiate is and what he brings to the Welsh team.
He may not be the quickest (but no slouch) and maybe not the biggest ball carrier (do 6s need to be) but what he does is he allows the other back row players to concentrate on their game knowing he will hit anything that moves and be there at the right time.
On another thread the other day someone compared him to Richard Hill, whilst I admit that he has some way to go to get to that level, that is the biggest compliment you can pay the guy cos Hill was phenomenal.

Re: Dan Lydiate MOTM
No i dont think he will but in the longer term (though there are lots of good back rowers pressing for places) I really like the balance of Brown, Rennie, Denton on paper.

Re: Dan Lydiate MOTM
Had the lineout functioned better I imagine Ryan Jones would have easily been MOTM. His receptions at the restarts were outstanding, and he had an all round good game filling in as captain.

Ryan Jones has always been class. It's taken the rest of the team performing to show it though. It's great to see him back to 2008 form or maybe better

I really like Ryan Jones, always have. A good player and a true gentleman. Warburton is the same, if fit and selected for the B&I Lions then for me Warburton should be the captain.
