Top Actors.
I'm ill and bored at home, so figured I may as well try and entertain myself in the most easy manner. So let's discuss a personally top subject of mine, actors/actresses, who are the best?
For me Stephen Graham is so under rated and deserve many more plaudits for his acting. In This Is England '88 he was only on screen for about 5 minutes out of 3 hours of footage and still delivered the strongest performance. (and when alongside Joe Gilgun and Vicky McClure that's even more impressive).
I also think that Andy Serkis is an incredibly talented actor for his portrayal of Smeagle/Gollum, and his commitment to that role.
How about you?

Re: Top Actors.
Morgan Freeman- quality actor
Al Pacino, De Niro, Di Caprio.
Think they go without saying.
Matt Damon is decent
Clive Owen.
Rachel McAadams, I think is a good actress.

Currently I consider these to be the at the top of my list, of those still in the acting. Just males at the moment, might do a female list later on.
Choi min-sik
Tony Leung
Daniel Day Lewis
Jang Don-gun
Ryan Gosling
Get this feeling I'm missing some other name.

Re: Top Actors.
Yes.. Stephen Graham...tour-de-force performance in This is England.
My acting heros come from a different generation to the present string. But of the present string I can isolate Billy Bob Thornton, Viggo Mortensen, Daniel Craig, Paul Bettany off the top of my head.

Re: Top Actors.
Dicaprio- think he's magnificent
Daniel Day Lewis- 'My Left Foot' says it all.
Pacino and DeNiro - both brilliant.
I'm a big fan of Daniel Craig, Tom Hardy and Sean Penn too.
One that has recently caught my attention also is Mark Ruffalo. Very understated, but intense. I like him a lot.

Re: Top Actors.
Paddy Considine's performance in Dead Man's Shoes was one of the best I've seen.
One of my very favourite actors, ever since I was a youngster and he was in Cracker, is Christopher Eccleston. I really liked another series he did called Hearts and Minds, plus a two-part drama called The Second Coming.
I never watch Doctor Who though so I can't comment on that.
Of course, this is the film section and not the TV section, but I can redeem my post by saying he was good in Shallow Grave and Jude too.
But I mainly prefer his TV work.
I suppose part of the reason I wanted to give mention to these two is because they seem quite down to earth. They seem do this job because they have a good old fashined passion for it, not just to become famous, and they don't abuse the fame that has come with the deserved success, or let it go to their heads.
I like to think they'd have a chat with you if you saw them in a pub.
Along similar lines:
Ewan McGregor - not really for his acting but I liked The Long Way Round and The Long Way Down, both for the fact that he got off his arse and did something like that and also that he seemed a pretty sound bloke on those programmes.
