This was the angle that drew me into wrestling. I'd been following it a little bit for a few months, but when Savage was bitten by the cobra I was hooked.

Jake was amazing in his heel role, and Savage made a great babyface at that time as well. It's hard to judge without a little bit of bias, but I think it holds up against any feud I've seen since.

This was a brilliant feud, it's just a shame there was never really a proper pay-off to it. The 2 characters meshed together perfectly: the cold, calculating Roberts and the highly strung, volcano tempered Savage.

I remember watching this as a kid and being completely mesmerised by it, wondering if Savage would recover and what kind of terrible revenge he'd extract on Jake if he did.

I agree with crips, it's hard to think of any feud since that has been as impactful and memorable as this one. And it makes me kind of sad because the chances of ever again seeing something that hits you like that angle did are slim.

On a sidenote, I LOVE Vince McMahon's reaction on commentary when he sees the little kid with the spiky hair crying, the stifling of his laugh gets me every time!

It's funny because the other thing that drew me in was around the exact same time, and we talked about it last week - Hogan and Flair on the funeral parlour. My favourite segment ever.

I genuinely wonder if I would feel the same about that and the Savage-Jake feud if I'd got into wrestling a little earlier or a little later. I think I was just extremely lucky (or unlucky) that my first exposure to wrestling was one of the WWF's creative peaks.

I got into it a little earlier and im glad i did. I got to see The Ultimate Warrior really tear it down the Hogan/Warrior build up got me hooked, I always prefer Savage as a face

1st got into wrestling around shame time when my old man got Sky. Superstars on a Friday night was the highlight of my week... Considering buying every episode from 1991 for $80 of the net

The sad thing was the snake died after the show, it had a reaction to Randys blood!
I saw on a shoot interview Jake was saying he was starting to get worried because he couldnt get the snake to let go, lol.

It wasnt as bad as Earthquake squashing Damien on live tv though! He did his splash on the bag cointaining the snake and killed it!
