Maybe if we got just one more manager to even it up, we could split into two leagues of 8 teams?
I'm not sure there are 3 people on the site who would necessarily want to try their hand at this.

I do think that, while the chance is there, the league should be restarted but I am happy to keep on going.

Maybe a slimmed down version in terms of amount of teams?
I say that only because the more teams there are the higher the chance of managers leaving and being irreplaceable.

Come up with a better TP system and we might try it.
But from my experience, all TPs systems have the same problems and the best approach is for all managers to accept the weaknesses and inconsistencies live with them and don't moan.
The biggest problem with TPs is manager not accepting that they are not going to be perfect and are going to have inconsistencies due to different managers opinions.
This league's TP system was about the fairest I have seen as it was one where the league runners actually got the least players from TPs

I would reduce the amount allowed for a start, so the market doesn't get flooded.
Extend the windows, introduce a loan system which favours the lower teams.
Place transfer rules in the league such as the 2 clubs in one season rule.

Extend the windows, but reduce the amount allowed. So you mean go to 1 per day max? Otherwise extending the window means increasing the amount doesn't it?
Agree on the 2 clubs in 1 season rule.

Re: Furious Football Association © : HomePage Season 2, Page 20
You need to factor in 4 things....
Player Leaving
Club Selling
Club Buying
Bid
Then break it down. Would the club realistically sell....
E.G....
Fernando Torres
Chelsea
Malaga
£30m
~ Torres wants to prove himself.
~ Chelsea wouldn't sell.
~ Malaga aren't big enough.
~ £20m loss on what they paid.
No deal!
or
Demba Ba
Newcastle
Arsenal
£12m
~ Fairly loyal, has release clause.
~ Known to sell at right price.
~ Big club, would appeal
~ Bit short of clubs valuation, but release clause exists.
Negotiate
If those 4 things all match then nobody should complain. It should make things simpler.

Its a thankless task it really is Beer.
Look at the last transfer window, Tevez, Berbatov, Pato etc all looked like they were on the brink of a move, we held fire and got abuse for doing so. None of them then moved.
It's impossible to judge, you read one thing one day in the press, then something completely different the next.

Re: Furious Football Association © : HomePage Season 2, Page 20
KB - you have just suggested pretty much what we do now. We currently say:
Q1 - Would the player leave current club for bidding club?
Q2 - Would the club sell a) full stop; b) for that price?
If question 1 is a No, then it is a No overall. If question 2 is a yes, then question 2 is asked. If 2a is a No, then it's a No. If 2a is a yes, but 2b is a No, it's negotiate (with the acceptable price agreed between the runners)
Yes to all is a yes overall.
We have applied that consistently, with 3 runners opinions used and a majority verdict.
And we have had countless complaints

At the same time though mate, this is Fantasy. You have to keep that element to it.
Take Tevez as an example....
Carlos Tevez
Man City
PSG
£40m
~ Wants to leave England.
~ Want him out of the club.
~ Bucket loads of money and loads of ambition.
~ Slightly short of valuation.
Negotiate
It maintains the Fantasy element, whilst still loosely following real life.

PSG would not be the only team who would put a bid in, if Man City accepted PSG bid and Fiorentina came up with £35m would Tevez not want to join them instead playing at a better team, competing for better trophies.
Re: Furious Football Association © : HomePage Season 2, Page 20
Not really a better team IRL.
PSG top of the league, loads of cash and Fiorentina are 12th in Serie A.
That would sway the decision.

I know I haven't been a part of this for a while, but that's one of the problems I feel. A lot of the time, there seems to be a confusion over whether it is being based on real life or the fantasy.

IMO its TPs which killed this league.
too many and inconsistant.
also halfway thru the second season and IMO its way to early for sum clubs to be miles better thaan other, e.gporto,
even playing 6 at the back with 2 DMs couldnt hold their firepower.
i think we shud call it quits and restart.(or go out in one big hurrah)
also new team, and make sure that none of the teams have the likes of Falcoa, bale hulk etc player which will singlehandedly turn a game, make it about the tactics rather than the team.
also have a 3 eek ffseason with the lower teams havning prioity int he TPs
e.g week 1 TPs for 5th n 6th week 2 TPs for 3rd 4th 5th n 6th and week 3 TPs for 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th n 6th. this means that the weaker teams will ahve first grabs on teh better players
also can i be newcastle?

Tbf I only had a better team than most from being in the right place at the right time with deals like Chiellini and Modric, others like De Rossi etc I had to pay through the nose for.
Re: Furious Football Association © : HomePage Season 2, Page 20
Porto and Fiorentina had the least TPs out of anyone, so you can't blame them. They both looked like making the CL final, and the majority of our players were bought domestically.
My only first XI to have come via TPs was Mbia (with Bent and Ansaldi as back-ups) and for Hero it is VDW.
The reason for the gap between teams comes down to the managers ability to negotiate transfers domestically and to recognise who is rated by managers and target them. It is not down to TPs.

Morning all.
Another win for West Ham, and another red card... 3 on the trot now, but we've still taken 7 points.
We have no excuses not to be promoted as champions this year!

TP's for me seem to be based solely on real life, so putting reasons down was pointless because they never influenced the decision. Yet transfers in the league were pure fantasy, Gareth Bale at Leverkusen and then Porto? Would never, ever, ever, ever happen IRL.

It's easier to say how inconsistent or rubbish TP's are I doubt many of you could do a better job I would love to see you moaners do TP's in a league it would fail straight away.
You have to take both the real life and fantasy otherwise it wouldn't work when teams first start its a lot about real life but when they establish themselves as a club on here it's more a bout here.
An how can you stop teams doing deals on here if you do it would kill the league as that is the main thing about a league.

Javi Martinez I got in TPs, think that was about it of the biggies.

Nice pathetic attitude, getting all defensive.
Problem is, real life should only really apply to the clubs and the player in question.. Everything else should be fantasy.

Morning folks.
We have decided that it is a good time to call the FL to an end.
With real workloads steadily increasing and Hero's league getting off the ground, we do not feel FL will get the attention that a league needs from it's runners.
Thanks to everyone who took part.

Shame, but I hope the spirit can live on in the Euro Division, and i'd have no problems if the same runners were involved in the league as despite my personal TP issues, everyone involved in running the FFA did a great job in my opinion.
