The Reverse Draft 2012
In the normal draft the worst team from the year before gets first pick and therefore the chance to the best player. So that got me thinking how would the 1st round of the draft go if the order was reversed. Ie the Giants won the Super Bowl and therefore are rewarded with 1st pick.
I found this reverse draft based on last year's draft:- http://walterfootball.com/draft2011backward.php
Therefore I am interested in any suggestions. Would the Giants/ Patriots go for Luck or would he possibly end up at the 49ers in 3rd spot. Would the Ravens see RG3 as an upgrade on Flacco? Would the Green Bay Packers take Trent Richardson in 5th?
I will try and work down the list as suggestions come in/ the discussion goes on. Try and start with picks for the first six teams and then I'll make the selections for a few teams every couple of days base on the discussion. Hope that makes sense.

Re: The Reverse Draft 2012
If the Giants can get a trade that can fill their other needs then take Luck and trade him away.
Eli will hopefully be about for a few more years so Luck would be a luxury and a waste of his career sitting on the bench.

Very interesting thread.
Assuming no team makes a blockbuster trade for Luck/RG3, I would think the Giants take Kalil at 1 as that is probably their main weakness.
Patriots - maybe Claiborne to try and fix their secondary, as there aren't really any elite pass rushers. Or Blackmon.
Then Jim Harbaugh's dreams come true and he gets Luck.

Don't see why Pats wouldn't take Luck and have him sit behind Brady for a couple of years. Then take either Claiborne or Blackmon with the 6th pick.

Don't think he's gonna be good enough, could be used for some draft picks.

Re: The Reverse Draft 2012
This draft would be a little skewed in the Patriots favour because of previous trades.
Out of the Patriots and Giants the Patriots could consider trading a QB as Brady is now 34. Otherwise Kalil or Clairborne would be a good shouts unless they think about adding Trent Richardson at RB or replacing Wes Welker with Blackmon.
The Giants seem to have enough at WR, RB (presuming Jacobs stays) and QB so adding someone to the OL like Kalil, Reiff or Martin could be options.
I'm pretty sure the 49ers would add Luck (if he was still available). the other option would be to keep Alex Smith and draft Blackmon.

Re: The Reverse Draft 2012
1. New York Giants - Kalil if they stayed put, but there would definitely be teams trading up for Luck, probably the 49ers from that position.
2. New England Patriots - Justin Blackmon - Pretty sure they would trade this pick to someone wanting RG3, if they were to pick then probably Blackmon
3. San Francisco 49ers - Luck! Dream scenario for Harbaugh and all Niners
4. Baltimore Ravens - Claiborne - if RG3 was here I would love to see the Ravens take him as I don't believe Flacco will make the step up to elite
5. Green Bay Packers - Courtney Upshaw - Matthews and Upshaw would create havoc for O Lines
6. New England Patriots - Trent Richardson - Would complete the Patriot offence, brilliant runner, receiver and blocker
If we are predicting trades then this could get very interesting quickly

Re: The Reverse Draft 2012
I think both New York and New England would rather trade Luck than take him so either 49ers can pay to move up or hope nobody does but not including trades I think:
1. New York Giants- Matt Kalil OT
2. New England Patriots- Morris Claiborne CB
3. San Francisco 49ers- Andrew Luck QB
4. Baltimore Ravens- Justin Blackmon WR
5. Green Bay Packers- Nick Perry DE/OLB
6. New England Patriots- Michael Brockers DT
