And me, but not a poster on baseball.
Fun to watch Toronto vs Boston last night on MLB.TV. Loads of runs but a scary moment with one player (Patterson for the Jays) hit on the back of his head with a fastball. Poor starts by both starters, particularly Beckett.
Good guys won.

Thanks for the response lads, and lass
It'd be good to get as many people on for the new season starting shortly.
I remember a game between boston and NYY at fenway last year where umpteen yankees batters where being hit with pitches. Must be a red sox thing.

Re: Any punters....
I've seen a couple of bench clearing brawls at Fenway, which are always entertaining. Usually because Kevin Youkilis has been hit with a pitch.
And the highest scoring games I've seen have alway been when the Sox have been playing the Blue Jays.
Definitely going to get tickets when the Rays come to town this season. Can't wait to see what reception Manny and Johnny get.

I'm from the 606 but I was usually on the American Football board. With this NFL lockout, my attention has been strictly baseball and footie.

Aye Jane, some of those brawls are hilarious- the NHL ones are nuts!
This clip is from the Japanese league, you wont see something like this in MLB- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JrN3EgJVXg
Hopefully they can get something worked out before september at least, uberfunction. Its an embarrasing position for our sport to be in all because of greed imo. If there is no NFL this year I'll need to settle for watching college ball. I'll be watching rugby as usual and will probably pay a wee bit more attention to Liverpool.

Ah, the NHL is a whole different ball game! And I love it. Hockey is definitely my favourite American sport, closely followed by baseball, then football and trailing a long way behind is basketball.
It will be a shame if there's no NFL next year, but I'm within walking distance of the Boston College Eagles, so I'll just have to concentrate on them rather than the Packers.
Sorry, seem to have wandered waaaay off topic there. Remind me again, which board is this??

To Calamity Jane
I see that we are playing the Red Soxs for the first time on the 26,27& 28th april.
At Camden yards.
I would greatly appreciate it,if you could mention to the Soxs players to go easy, you
Know, enjoy baltimore, have a few beers, get drunk whatever, just don't bother about
the games, espically seeing as we will probably be in our usual place in the table.
You Know last, and this would benefit our cause to finnish next to last(for the first
time in a while), thank you.
Oh by-the-way, Leeds Rhino's? oh dear, still could be worst, you could have been a
Hull fc fan.

Re: Any punters....
Hey, I'm in the semi-final of the 606 league, so I must be doing something right!
Though after Ryan Miller let in four goals last night, I think my goalie stats are pretty much screwed. And my leading goal scorer (Kopitar) is out for the season.
Moving swiftly back on topic, you can tell it's the opening weekend of the baseball season - there's snow forecast in Boston.
