New Horsemen Stable.. Who would be in yours and why?
The Horsemen are due to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, and it got me to thinking about who would you guys pick out of the current roster to form a New Horsemen Stable.
Rather than name names, I have broken down the criteria for each member as I see it and hopefully we can agree on who fits the bill.
Leader: Has to be decorated champion with the credentials to hold the whip hand over the majority of the roster both on camera and backstage. Also must have persona befitting that of a guy who doesn't mind receiving back up to get the job done, but can take care of business in a pinch.
Enforcer: Now the obvious remit for this role is physical power, but for me it's not the deciding factor. The deciding factor is Loyalty. The Enforcer should be the heart of the group, loyal to the hilt and never be a threat to the leader. He's probably the closest to being face in the group.
Tag Team: So funny I had half typed this thread this morning when actual work got in the way and then Adam D posts a great article about tag teams. For me it is important not to have a young hotshot within the ranks ala Randy Orton in Evolution. the leader should not be under threat of being usurped in this group. For this purpose I would have two experienced members of the roster form a solid tag team a good few months before joing the group.
I realize I haven't reinvented the wheel by writing these criteria but wanted to have a guide for the template that made the horsemen a huge success.

Ah!! Gaffer I knew a fellow Tim wouldn't let me down! I had Jericho as a synch but the Drew McIntyre call is a gem of epic proportions!
MIG's call of Swagger and Christian is almost there. I think Swagger is a good call, Christian would clash with Jericho for sure. You'd spend every episode waiting for the "KillSwitch!" as soon as Jericho wasn't looking.

I really want to see Hawkins and Ryder get back together, if they just left them together for a 2/3 years, allowed them a lot of segments as well as matches I think as a Tag Team, probably not as singles but as a team they could match the kind of run Edge & Christian had, both are very close, they bounce off each other well too and are very creative

I would rate Sheamus as much better than Barrett, no way should he be in the Enforcer role.

I think Sheamus is far to talented for that type of role, I'd move Drew into that role and put Regal in a team with Mason Ryan and help coach him from a close personal viewpoint for a year

Sorry but that makes no sense!
the smallest guy in the stable is the enforcer? And the natural speaker of the group is the muscles? And the muscles is the speaker?
I hope you got the enforcer and leader the wrong way around!

Miz and Morrison were a great tag team, but I don't think they would work well as part of a stable. Both massively egotistical in their heel character.

Having 'Horse' and 'Stable' in the same sentence automatically made me think Lilian Garcia should be in the group.

Moxley would never conform to what The General is looking for in an Enforcer, Moxley would look to take Danielson's head off with a chair everytime he turned his back

I'd tease that, do the opposite of what people expect but then have him being the complete opposite and actually being loyal to him when push came to shove.

@ Adam D
First of all thanks for the critique of my post, secondly let me quote the OP bellow:
'Leader:Has to be decorated champion with the credentials to hold the whip hand over the majority of the roster both on camera and backstage. Also must have persona befitting that of a guy who doesn't mind receiving back up to get the job done, but can take care of business in a pinch'
Are you telling me this doesn't describe Batista?
'Enforcer: Now the obvious remit for this role is physical power, but for me it's not the deciding factor. The deciding factor is Loyalty. The Enforcer should be the heart of the group, loyal to the hilt and never be a threat to the leader. He's probably the closest to being face in the group'

You're getting far to caught up in the word enforcer and not understanding the OP.
For me Batista is a natural leader for a heel stable and I think he greatly improved on the mic before his exit, Christian is the most natural talker but not quite at the main event, decorated champion level that the OP requested.
If i wanted to pick an enforcer solely based on size and strength I would have gone with Show or Khali, however i wanted a more interesting, more charismatic stable.
So IMO it makes perfect sense

Re: New Horsemen Stable.. Who would be in yours and why?
With the two descriptions you have posted there, I stand by my comment that Christian is closer to the first description and Batista to the second.
Batista doesnt come over as someone who needs help - Christian is that whiney type of heel that does.
Your welcome to your opinion but I would think that most would disagree with the way you have things with regards to those two.
HAving said all of that, Batista is too big a name to be in that enforcer role - someone like Mason Ryan is a better fit.

That was exactly my thinking Adam. Christian is someone who will happily stab you in the back for 'One more match' for the world title. That's why I picked Mason Ryan, someone who does the hard grinding work for the leader and doesn't mind the leader leaving him in the ring up against three other men, he would still support the leader.

Re: New Horsemen Stable.. Who would be in yours and why?
I can see Christian playing the secondary role very well though I wouldn't be over keen on Batista in the main position, although he was improved in his last few months he still wasn't for me someone that could carry a stable well.

christian has proven throughout his career that he will do jobs and let people go over and thats why i think he would not only support the leader extremely well but also add value to the secondary role and the group as a whole. Batista was doing some of his best work before leaving and i really think he's got the ability and charisma to be the main man in a stable if not the company.

Re: New Horsemen Stable.. Who would be in yours and why?
I'd personally go with Angle in the main role if Christian was the back up, work very well together, have many years of history between them and I reckon they could work comedy well then with Clay/Otunga

I still dont buy Christian as a number 2 in a stable (especially as the muscles).
However, that stable WOULD be comedy gold and awesome!

You see this is where it all becomes mixed up for me, Christian could easily play the secondary role, I've got no problem with that at all, it's the enforcer role I can't see him in at all and from what you described here it's nothing really what an Enforcer is or should be

Re: New Horsemen Stable.. Who would be in yours and why?
of course gaff... christian is not an enforcer in the true sense of the word but my interpretation of the OP was that the 'enforcer' is more of a secondary role and i see christian as an ideal candidate for that

Leader: Daniel Bryan
Enforcer: Big Zeke
Tag Team: Drew McIntyre/Dibiase
JJ Dillon: Michael Cole
For me to solidify Bryan, I think he needs a stable to help him go way over as a Heel without the whole 'Yes yes yes' like it is Harry met Sally or something. He has the moveset similar to Flair, the music, all that is missing is a flamboyant persona.
Big Zeke is always going to struggle to hold his own as a lone superstar. Losing to Otunga isn't sending out the message of someone going up the ranks.
Drew and Ted are not up to much and I think as a tag team would compliment each other in terms of moveset and image.
