I think it is quite clear, the people who put up these stats just don't understand rugby!

Just one stat I told you about you won't be happy with, of all the players who started in the Six Nations for Wales, North has made the fewest tackles.

It seems so mate, I think they don't know what to do with me anymore, I sit here making up stuff all day long and make as if I know what I am talking about, then some wise crack comes an proves me wrong. So they reckon the badge will give my posts more authority and credibility.
Oh how wrong they could be.

Thanks guys, but on the rugby forum you may still be yourself, I will mod you though if you step out of line in the cricket section.
Be warned, I take no prisoners.
Taffin, you may continue your war against statistics...for now.

Re: Wales' Six Nations statistics
I was thinking of using a warning system like this.
The Lion growls - friendly reminder to keep things civil.
The Lion roars - first warning
The Lion crouches - PM and final warning.
The Lion pounces - life ban
The Lion devours - Laptop, I-pad, pc, cell phone all confiscated.
How does that sound? Perhaps a little more subtelty?

Oh, to be fair it isn't our best, we kept Kallis, Amla, De Villiers, Steyn, Morkel, Philander etc.

The Lion snoozes - Execution
...............should be added for those of us who might still want to get a final insult in, even with a piece of rock and a stone pencil.

You can only tackle them that's there. How many times did he wallop Morgan off the kick off, twice? That's why stats are pants.

A mod must be able to listen to two sides of an argument and admit when he is wrong.

Re: Wales' Six Nations statistics
No, only his work rate in defence, and he hides behind Roberts.
On a serious note when I did the article about the young players that impressed me, I had a look at his stats an for whatever reason his defensvie stats show a low work rate. It could be down to a few factors, but suffice to say he doesn't tackle a lot.

What do you want him to do, become a ninth forward? He's on the wing FFS! Until 15 years ago they only ever tackled each other!

Rory, since you've set me up, I'll take your bait. There was nothing wrong in his tackle on McFadden was there. One tackle but a hell of a good one he failed to reciprocate.
There, happy now?

I honestly have no idea what you are talking about. The point I made was that anytime a welsh player is criticised, people go nuts. All reasonable debate just flies out the window.

ESPN stats have been known to be a bit suspect in the past so taffin may have a point. Just saying like.

Come on bois bach it's a simple point.
The analysis is quantitative not qualitative.

But when it suggests qualitative, we'll quote them... otherwise we think they're over-rated?
