This morning Chesham United completed the signing of striker Paul Robinson. Although Paul agreed terms earlier in the week, as he had only recently moved from Windsor to Beaconsfield the move could not be confirmed until today when Southern League registration forms with Chesham could be submitted. He will be available for selection for today's visit by Truro City.

The 32 year old started his career at Darlington before joining Newcastle United in 1998 and making his Magpies debut the following year under Ruud Gullitt who selected him ahead of Alan Shearer for the derby game with Sunderland. He subsequently played for various Football League clubs including Wimbledon (where he played with current Chesham keeper Shane Gore), Grimsby Town, Blackpool, Hartlepool United and Torquay before moving into the non-league game. Earlier this season Paul made seven appearances for Windsor & Eton scoring six goals.

Andy Leese is delighted at bringing in a player he has been tracking for some time, "Paul is an experienced striker and now we've finally had the opportunity to sign him I'm sure he'll give us the attacking boost we've been looking for to continue our push forward over the rest of the season."

Paul trained with the squad on Thursday night and will come straight into contention for the game with Truro on Saturday.
