Forward Passes
I promised during the last 6 nations to stop moaning about forward passes as they were so common and so rarely picked up.
I lied.
My enjoyment of this game is being severely hampered by the number of forward passes - or as Jiffy calls them "great offloads" being made and not picked up. it is so much easier to bypass the defence when you are allowed to throw it forward effectively.
Mutter, mutter.

Re: Forward Passes
And the one "forward" pass he did pick up which Parisse threw, according to the IRB directive wasn't a forward pass!

Re: Forward Passes
Have you also heard of those things that jiffy calls 'tries' ? Because being an England fan you must have forgotten what those are.

Re: Forward Passes
Im normally very forgiving on forward passes as they are ridiculously hard to judge but there sure did seem to be quite a few slip through the net. Mostly Welshm, but only because they made far more passes in the game..both sides got the benefit of the doubt on occassions.

And blatantly obvious knock-ons (Bergamasco).
And horribly unstraight lineout throws.

Re: Forward Passes
What about them not straights in the Italian lineouts? I agree about the Itlian forward he did call - the player passed it backwards, but momentum took it forward. Harsh.

Re: Forward Passes
Exactly Samurai. The refs need to understand the difference between a forward pass and passes that travel forward. Its all about the direction you pass it.
