Asia Cup - Page 2 Empty Asia Cup

Post by Shelsey93 Sun 11 Mar 2012, 3:29 pm

First topic message reminder :

Bangladesh in with a very good shout of beating Pakistan. Nasir Hossain (very good youngster) just out and Shakib Al-Hasan still at the crease. 39 from 39.

Yep, as expected. That over was all too costly.

A valiant effort, though, and Bangladesh can be very proud of what they have achieved in this tournament. Turning over India and Sri Lanka is no mean feat, and they ran Pakistan rather close twice.

Let's hope this marks a turnaround in the fortunes of Bangladeshi cricket, and we see an improvement across all formats now.

early on

bad umpiring lost them first game aswell, also against india bad decision against shakib.

like andy flower says if you are a smaller team, umpire's will go against you, very possible with review system BD would have been undefeated in this cup. shakib rightfully is man of the series and pak's held there nerve when it mattered - but nothing like a underdog winning.

Tamim Iqbal did well, too. Four consecutive fifties, and showed some solid defensive technique to complement his famed slogging.

50 is good but world class player's convert it to 100's - lazy player, at his age he should be more athletic- slow runner, but great to watch, wouldn't call it slogging, has good technique on aggressive shots. Wasn't in the original squad for BD for the asia cup

intresting fact, shakib al hasan - doesn't train at all on his bowling - might be stupid but like the guy more because of it and his cowboy hat in test matches (normal hat - shaped into a cowboy style hat.

To be fair Pakistan had their fair share of bad decisions in the game too. Younus Khan's dismissal springs to mind.

No it didn't. No match has ever been lost solely because of one bad decision. Bangladesh had 99.5 other overs to win the game in...

In the first game they lost by 20 runs and one of there batsmen got out for cheap - clearly going down leg

That may well be true. What is certainly false is that the poor decision cost them the game.
