6 Days away from Wrestlemania

The show kicks off with CM Punk seated alone in the ring, spotlight centered on his figure. He says that he is going to miss this. Punk gets a warm reception in his home city of Chicago. Punk says that he is a realist, while Orton is living in a fantasy world. Punk puts over the fact that he was raised in Chicago. He says that he doesn’t care about the health or safety of Orton. Punk gets to his feet and we see a video recap of his attack on Orton last week.

Punk recaps the build of their rivalry, going all the way back to Orton’s original attack. Punk says that he is just getting started. He’ll close this sick and twisted chapter at Wrestlemania.

“I hear voices in my head” hits and Orton makes his way down to the ring, with a heavily bandaged knee. He comes down to the ring, and at first Punk is winning the exchange. Orton manages to gain the upper hand and sets up for the punt! Orton charges, but his knee gives out! Punk at first is relieved, and then realizes the hilarity of the situation. He heads over to Orton, and begins to laugh in his face. Orton tries to swipe at him, but Punk kicks out his leg. Punk lifts him up over his shoulder and hits the GTS! Punk has a devilish smirk on his face.

Edge and Christian are in the back talking, and they will be in action as a tag team tonight!

Edge & Christian v. Alberto Del Rio & Brodus Clay w/ Ricardo Rodriguez

Edge and Brodus start off the match. Edge grabs the arm and tags in Christian. Christian hits a double axe handle. Edge is tagged back in and they begin the double team. Clay is sent over the top rope, and Christian slingshots himself to the outside. Brodus catches him, but Edge connects with a baseball slide through Christian which knocks down the big man!

Christian and Del Rio are in the ring. Rio goes for a cover, but Christian kicks out. Brodus gets the tag and steps on top of Christian, then tags back in Del Rio. Rio flies off the second rope for an elbow drop. Cover attempt, but Christian kicks out. Del Rio backs Christian into the corner, but gets countered on a splash, and hit with a tornado DDT! Edge and Brodus both get the tag. Edge screams into the ring and hits two clotheslines, but can’t knock the big man down. Edge goes for a crossbody, but Brodus catches him! Edge brings him down to the mat, and begins to set up for the spear! Del Rio grabs his leg, and trips up Edge. Christian runs over and beats down on Del Rio. Brodus charges at Edge, but Edge bounces off the ropes and hits a spear!! Cover, and this match is over!

Winners via Spear: Christian & Edge

After the match, Del Rio is on the outside of the ring, attacking Christian. He has the arm bar cinched in. He finally lets go and runs to the back as Edge chases after. Edge turns back to help Christian, but gets hit from behind by Del Rio! Edge gets caught with the cross arm breaker!

Justin Gabriel w/ The Corre v. Santino Marella w/ Kozlov, Big Show & Kane

Justin hits a sidekick and goes for the cover. Santino kicks out. Justin Gabriel locks on an arm bar. Santino escapes and gets back to his feet. He splits his way out of a clotheslines, and then connects with the diving head butt. Heath tries to interfere, but Santino backs off. Kozlov grabs the leg of Justin causing him to fall to the mat! Santino begins to pump up the cobra, and connects! This match is over.

Winner via Cobra: Santino Marella

After the match, Santino begins to celebrate with the trumpet salute. Kozlov and Tamina join in. Big Show re-enters the ring and decides to join in. Kane comes into the ring, and Santino is terrified that he is going to be attacked, but Kane joins in the fun!

Taker’s music hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Before the lights come on, HHH’s music hits. He walks down to the ring, but before he can spit water up into the air, a gong sounds. The lights go out, and then come back on. Taker and Triple H being to stare each other down. Out of nowhere, “Oh Shawn!!” hits the audio dial!

Michaels comes prancing down to the ring and grabs a microphone. Michaels puts over both of the competitors. He asks HHH what in the world makes him think that he could do what Shawn couldn’t. HHH says that it is because Michaels knew that he didn’t have to win every night to have success. Trips says that he isn’t even close to Michaels caliber so he needs to win. And he will win.

HHH puts over the fact that Taker is an absolute legend. He mentions how Taker has worked through so many different injuries and has long been an inspiration for him in this business. HHH says that he has come back after a year off for one thing, he came back to wrestle Taker at Wrestlemania! Taker will allows be the Icon, the Phenom, and the Deadman, and HHH will always respect him more than any other, but in six days he will no longer be undefeated at Wrestlemania! Hunter says that whether or not he wants to be, he is the “one”. Taker says that Shawn gave him two of his best matches ever at ‘mania, but he still couldn’t get the job done. Now, when he looks in the eyes of Shawn Michaels he doesn’t see the same arrogance and confidence he once did, he sees a man that has been humbled. Michaels will be going into the Hall of Fame full of regret. HHH says that Taker won’t be beating him at ‘mania, and demands that Michaels explain why. Shawn opts to exit the ring without answering. He then turns back to Hunter and mouths that he, “can’t win”.

Jack Swagger w/ Michael Cole v. Jerry “The King” Lawler

Swagger knocks Lawler to the outside of the ring. He throws him over the guardrail and into the bell ringer’s booth. Lawler gets back to his feet and connects with a crazy punch! He grabs a steel chair and wails on the back of Swagger till he is disqualified.

Winner via DQ: Jack Swagger

After the match, Lawler turns his attention towards Cole. Security holds him back despite slamming the chair at the Coal Mine, and trying to scale the sides. Cole throws a cup of soda into his face!! Cole stands on his desk and screams that Lawler is a loser.

Vickie Guerrero walks out, and poses like John Morrison. His music hits and she continues to pose in slow motion! She makes her way down to the ring and screams “excuse me” on the mic to gather the heat.

Dolph Ziggler & Sheamus w/ Vickie Guerrero v. Daniel Bryan & John Morrison

Morrison and Ziggler start off the match. Ziggler is sent to the outside, but tags in Sheamus. Morrison attempts a flashkick, but gets slammed to the mat for his efforts.

Back from the break, Sheamus is in the ring with Morrison. John is down on his luck, and just barely kicks out of a cover. He finally gets in the tag to Brian, and Ziggler also runs into the ring. Ziggler almost sneaks away with a roll up, but Bryan counters into the LeBelle lock. Sheamus makes the save, and then gets the tag. Sheamus turns Bryan inside out with a knee, but Morrison makes the save. It’s not enough as Brian has nowhere to turn and Sheamus capitalizes with a devastating Celtic Cross. This match is over.

Winners: Sheamus & Dolph Ziggler

In the back, Randy Orton is nursing his wounds. Scott Sanford asks Orton if he is going to be able to make it Wrestlemania. Orton says that he has never despised a human being more than Punk. He says that question shouldn’t be whether or not he’ll make it to ‘mania, but whether or not CM Punk will make it out!

The Rock is seen in the Gorilla position, but doesn’t speak. His music hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Justin Roberts announces his presence. “FINAAALLYYYY The Rock has come back to Chicago!” The Rock starts to run down the importance of “Team Bring It”. It’s not just a slogan, it is a way of life. The rock says that he has a dream. That dream is to come down to this very ring and call out John Cena. Rock refers to Cena as a “Homeless Power Ranger”. Rock says that he then woke up, and realized that this is reality. The reality is that The Rock is here, the Great One is here, and he is with the millions AND MILLIONS of The Rocks fans.

John Cena’s music hits and he comes down to the ring amidst a chorus of boos. Cena has a mic and he says that this is what he wanted. The Rock is back in a WWE Ring. Cena says that The Rock is back where he belongs. Cena asks if Rock hears the millions chanting his name. Cena says that years ago when he opened his mouth about him, he was one of the millions. He couldn’t understand why Rock had left. He wanted Rock back for moments like this. Because the power that The Rock has over people is undeniable. Cena tells The Rock to look and listen to the crowd. Cena says that if he doesn’t believe him, then feel the electricity that can only be brought by one man, The Rock. Cena is glad that he came back, because when he came back he was smoking. He even mentioned his name. He compares it to a celebrity roast where just the fact that Rock mentioned him meant that he was in. Cena says that everything he said about Rock had meaning and merit. The crowd starts a loud, “Cena sucks” chant. Cena says that he wanted to know what the problem was that The Rock had with him. Based on what Rock has said, Cena can only gather that Rock has a problem with Cena’s colors, style, music and even the fact that his fans are kids. John Cena says that he is damn proud of his accomplishments and who he has become. Cena asks Rock who the hell he is to question his heart. Cena says that every single week he walks down the aisle as himself. He has no interest in judging anyone, and has news for the Rock. He won’t be judged by The Rock!

The Rock says that Cena is right, the only person that can judge him is God. But that won’t stop him from kicking John Cena’s monkey ass all over Chicago! Cena says that he has addressed Rock like a man and said everything that needed to be said to his face. If they are going to fight then let’s do this.

Miz’s music hits and he comes down to the ring with Alex Riley. Miz asks “really?”. Is he really being overshadowed by the overrated? Miz has taken the W on the microphone and also flipped that into an M. Miz says that he has a secret, which is why he knows that The Rock won’t do anything tonight. It’s because The Rock is afraid of losing a fight and looking bad in Hollywood. So Miz tells Rock to keep running his mouth, because in the end he won’t actually do anything. Because in the end, “I’m the Miz, and I’MMMMM AWWWESOME!”.

Rock picks up his mic and says that Miz should know by now that it doesn’t matter what you think. Alex Riley cheap shots Rock! Rock instantly responds by kicking the rudey poo out of both guys. Miz gets hit in the center of the ring with a DDT. Rock follows up with the People’s Elbow, and then throws him out of the ring. John Cena has been watching from outside the ring, and slips back in under the ropes. Cena picks up The Rock and hits him with the Attitude Adjustment!!!!

Read a slightly different spoiler on this on the dirt sheets and it mentioned that Cena got booed when he hit the AA on the Rock, did anyone see it live and is this correct?

I haven't seen it but i can guess that he did, he even got booed on his entrance lol.

I watched it this morning, Cena had the crowd 70% against him and 30% cheering him. Roughly of course.

Rock was cheered, Punk was cheered early but did his best to get himself booed.

From the Rock/Cena w/Miz segment, it's proved that Miz as WWE Champion is nothing more than an afterthought. So I see Miz winning at Mania.

Busy reading this morning, there's Raw results, NXT and Smackdown spoilers, and Impact spoilers! If anyone wants to post the April 7th Impact spoilers, we can facepalm at the same time...

Hero, i watched it this morning, and yes Cena got an incredible amount of boo's after he hit the 'AA' on The Rock; it was almost like a heel turn! (joke)

Yeah DX Dan, appears to have been a supershow with all shows done in one night, probably so they can focus on the week leading up to Mania.

Can't forget the Wrestlemania Pro-Am Golf Tournament...

watched the HHH/Taker segment on wwe.com and the second part of the Rock/Miz/Cena segment - I thought HBK sold kayfabe emotion really well - Taker begins talking about HBK very respectfully saying he'd given him the best two matches of his streak then he becomes far more derogatory saying how HBK will be inducted into the HOF with regrets and how he will have to live for the rest of his life knowing Taker retired him; all the while HBK is becoming visibly more upset at Taker's tone until he tries to SCM him out of frustration but Taker grabs his leg and then grabs his throat ready for the choke slam, just as he's about to lift him up HHH gets in Taker's face and they have a stare off with a lot of tension - it was really well sold by both men. HHH then tells HBK to explain to Taker how he will beat him but HBK is standing in the corner looking overwhelmed, slowly HBK leaves the ring and walks to the back, HHH looks shocked and disappointed, HBK mouthes something like 'you can't win' and then Taker leaves with a smirk on his face.

Miz taunts the Rock saying he won't lay a finger on the Miz because he wouldn't want to jeapordise his successful film career with getting beaten up in the ring. Rock begins his put downs again by saying it doesn't matter what Miz thinks and then A-Ri blindsides him. Rock is forced back into the turnbuckle where both Miz and A-Ri lay into him. Rock fights back and manages to knock A-Ri over the top rop before ddting Miz and hitting the peoples' elbow. Rock sold the intensity well as well as relishing performing some of his signature moves again. Cena comes in the ring, Rock turns around and Cena hits the AA. Cena stands over the Rock with a very serious - heel like expression on his face as Rock lays, clutching his back on the canvas.

The Rock segment definitely seems to have set up some sort of retaliation from the Rock, would not be surprised if Rock costs Cena the match at Mania out of revenge.

Rock to hit both men with the Rock Bottom and then pin Miz and count the win for himself and he'll be back where he belongs as WWE Champ!

Kidding....obviously.

So who's the heel for Taker / HHH?

At first it seemed like it would be the Game-uhh but Taker's actions last night make him seem like a bit of a d|ck.

Cena did get alot of heat for that AA.

I only skipped through to the end but Rock defo needs some ring work.

Have they just unintentionally turned Cena heel there? I mean they probably assumed it would be 50/50 with the Rock in terms of fans.

Certainly got alot of hate for doing it, might spill over into Wreslemania?

Think they might of shot themselves in the foot, unless it was intended.

I can imagine like you said there would be a split of fans. They probably ran with this because he did a heelish thing and will of got away with it.

I mean this guy is The Rock, one of the, if not THE most popular Wrestler of all time - and you have Cena sneak into the ring and cheap shot with a AA - certainly very heelish.

Fair enough if he had done it on the Miz, would of got a huge pop, but Rock...

I can see both Rock and Cena hitting their finishers on Miz after they have teased a confrontation.

I have a feeling that Miz will not retain meaning that Del Rio can have the heel win of the night.

Hobo, does that not make all the turning the W upside down to make M pointless and giving him his own title etc? I know there is going to be a time where they lose eventually anyway but i just think if they are gonna pull the trigger on Miz completely this is the chance.

I think that most people are predicting a Miz win but I have a feeling that WWE creative value the Cena face product better.

If Cena goes against the Rock, it will be likely that Cena will turn heel. I therefore think that the attitude adjustment he gave Rock wont be repaid at Wrestlemania but instead they will argue, Miz will try and hit something, and then Rock will Rock Bottom him, leaving the way for Cena to get the title and remain face.

After the match, they will have a stare down, teasing a feud, with Rock as a Heel and Cena face.

If this does play out, I would love for Miz to win a rematch the next night with Rock interference cementing Cena as the face and Rock as Heel

That's a very well thought out idea i think, could work easily just depends on what they decide to do!

I can't see it, The Rock will want to come back and be loved by the fans.

Miz will win and i will be because Cena was too focused on The Rock, Miz takes advantage and wins, that way Cena has a ready made excuse for losing and doesn't fall as much as if Miz pinned him clean. And Miz still gets the push from pinning Cena at Wrestlemania.

Rocky wont come back to do a Heel run - and the way things are going for Cena and the fanbase at the moment, its easier for us to dislike him, and to cheer for Rocky.

Makes sense that way. Either way Miz will stay Heel also.

Thinking about it, you guys are right about Rocky not wanting to come back as a heel and KB's scenario is more likely.

Possibly, would make more sense than two heels winning at Wrestlemania, although i think Miz would be more in the Austin mould of your anti-hero tweener.

The reaction Cena got last night must of made Vince take notice to see that if ever there was the right moment to turn Cena, this is it. Put him up against arguably the greatest superstar ever and watch the fans turn on him.

Last nights Raw was overall dissapointing..however for me it was massively saved due to the HHH/Taker & Rock/Cena/Miz segments.

I was unsure whether Vince would have the cohojones to do some kind of heel turn with Cena however I think for the time being he realises that this is going to be the case whether he likes it or not. From all the rumours going around Rock is with us till Summerslam where the 2 will meet one on one. There is no doubt in anyone's mind, Cena's included, that the Rock is going to be the fan favourite heading into it. Regardless of whether the E want him to be or not Cena is going to be booed more than cheered. I think Vince realises this is the perfect chance to see how a full heel turn may be recieved (amongst kids especially) somewhere down the line. I dont expect a full turn but do expect some more heelish tactics from Cena along the way.

It would have been easy for the two to go at it last night and Cena just narrowly come out on top..i.e throws him over rope or something. This would have indicated Vince attempting to keep Cena completely face. However they took the route I was hoping they would and decided Cena could not stay face for this feud. The fact Cena waited till Rock wasnt paying attention before a sneek attack and AA all but confirmed that Cena will be the heel & that Vince has decided to turn him a little bit for the time being (of course the young ones post Rock era will still love him regardless).

Onto wrestlemania itself. I simply cannot see Cena walking out of their with the title around his waist. The AA last night means their is no chance of The Rock shaking hands and putting a Rock bottom on the Miz for Cena to win. This leaves 2 options..either; both the Miz & Cena recieve a rock bottom..cena being the latter to recieve it...Miz recovers first and hits the SCF to retain. Alternatively Cena somehow picks up the win and the belt and in the process is challenged by The Rock for the title the following night on Raw.

Personally id prefer the first option. I dont think the feud needs the title for it to be epic & would therefore rather see the Miz hold it and do so for a while..thereby strengthing his standing further in WWE.

One thing people keep mentioning is the fact that they cant see 2 heels (i.e.Del Rio & Miz) both retaining on a Wrestlemania night. Usually this is the case..that 1 face wins/retain & 1 heel does the same. I actually think (wrestlemania prediction) that Edge is going to retain the title and in the process Christian will get a heel/tweener role. In that case their is no problem with the Miz retaining. Even if Del Rio is to win then I dont think that means Cena is a cert to take the title due to the fact Undertaker/HHH is on last and that means a face standing tall come the end of Mania.

One things is for sure...i am now way more excited about Wrestlemania. I know the card isnt as stacked as it could be, but for me the possibilities with the top matches are endless and this is what has intrigued me. I simply cannot 100% call what is going to go down...even with Taker there is a shred of doubt as Trips is big enough & egotistical enough to take that streak! Bring on WRESTLEMANIA!!

I don't necessarily think there will be an out and out heel in the match - HBK cost Taker his title at the EC last year but in no way did the fans see him as a heel. I think Taker's actions and HBK's reactions were just to hammer the point home about Taker being so intimidating and dominent at Mania. HBK did a superb job of showing weakness - it really made HHH look strong in contrast, when HHH got in Taker's face it was both protecting his friend and sending a message to Taker that he will not be intimidated.

Let's face it though, even if the Rock was heel...the fans would love him.

He is just that kind of character.

Anyone else seen it? Was surprised with how The Rock got owned on the mic by Cena.... He looked very rusty, whether this was a scripted segment or off the cuff either way I thought Rocks work on the stick was a distant 3rd behind both Cena & The Miz

Brady12...I think it was scripted. Vince & Cena both knew Cena had to go over strong last night..could hardly be owned and physically decimated by The Rock 6 nights from Wrestlemania! Lets face it Rock has looked much stronger than Cena in most segments so far.

Whilst I did enjoy Cena's promo...much more than his 'final knockout' I cant help but feel it was cringe. Pretty shocked E allowed Cena to essentially place the racism and predjudice card given the recent twitter scandals etc. And a little rich coming from the guy who has used homosexual slurs in most of his promos for the past 12 months. Just felt wrong and I think most people know that this isnt the case. I did find it hilarious how Cena kind of back tracked on what he had been saying. Yes he mentioned the fact he was a fan and just wanted Rock back..but face 2 face he failed to mention the fact he thought rock was wrong to walk away from the company, that his movies were garbage & that he had let the people down. But in saying that..all in all he held himself well in their.

I wasnt surprised he was a little rusty..i think even Rock was a little nervous. Been away for quite some time and due to his pure physical and fitness presence think he is aware people expect him to slip straight back into the jabroni beating wrestling role easily. Mind you he didnt help himself drenching the ring in water lol.

I cant wait for this feud now..i was cautious of the Rock sticking around but given last nights events, the fact he is on Raw after Mania and the rumours regarding a return for a few months I think it is now a cert that their will be a summerslam Rock v Cena match. Expect plenty more 1 on1 promo battles..in which ill hinge my money on Rock getting the better of!

I thought Cena looked brilliant last night, fair play to Rock, he let Cena have his say without interupting him, thats why I like Rocky, he does give people an opportunity to get over be it on the mic or by going over him in the ring

I also think it could possibly have been Cena's finest performance, a grown up promo and I didn't even roll my eyes at the AA

Gaffer....I definitly agree with you their. Thats why ill always side with The Rock over Cena. Can understand Cena's frustration with the work etc he puts in and that Rock kind of just left and then kept away from the company name included.

However lets face facts..as Rock said he opended the gates for people like Cena to make a career in film. Lets face it Vince would not have gone for a WWE film production had Rock not had the success he did. And as you said whilst in the WWE he always always put people over. In fact he has put more over in his brief appereances over the past 7 years than Cena ever has in his career.

Im sure come the end of the feud he will gladly put Cena over because he genuinly does care for this company. However im sure he will take much enjoyment out of laying the smacketh down on him when he can!!
