Would you be a wrestler?
Would you be a wrestler?
If you had the physique and talent, would you choose being a wrestler as a career move?
ALthough you would get the fan adulation of 7 year olds, there would obviously be some down sides:
Injuries
Travelling on the road 90% of your working life
Seeing Ric blade up close
Having your friends turn heel on you occasionaly
just to name a few - so would you do it?

Re: Would you be a wrestler?
I would.
If you are interested in wrestling then you probably have a good idea what the lifestyle can be like.
There is no doubt that it would be hard work. It woul dbe a lonely and desolute existance at times; however if you were willing to put in the effort and have the right level of commitment then you could make it.
Injuries - Can happen in all walks of life. Yes you are more likely to get them in Wrestling than say football or tennis. But if you have that sort of physique and attitude you would possibly be looking at boxing or MMA. They are just as likely to result in injury.
Travelling on the road 90% of your working life - Again it depends on what you are looking at. If you are with someone like TNA that have a home arena then you wouldn't have to travel quite as much.
Seeing Ric blade up close - Would be too over awed at watching a "wrestling gawd" to be disgusted. Seriously...that wouldn't be so great!
Having your friends turn heel on you occasionaly - Kayfabe. I mean look at Cena and Cole. They are meant to be great friends outside of WWE.

Re: Would you be a wrestler?
I have honestly contemplated it.
I had some savings set aside and my job was a bit uncertain 2 years back sp I seriously looked into going living in Florida and joining the Team 3D wrestling school for a year. I think it amounted to $8000.
It's one of those things I feel I should do before I die, or at least before my body gives out.

Re: Would you be a wrestler?
I would absolutely love to be a wrestler or I guess diva is the correct term. As previously stated most wrestling fans are aware of the negative aspects but I think the positives outweigh the negatives. As someone who is passionate about wrestling I would love it; despite the injuries, travel etc, it looks great fun. It must be a great feeling when you put on a great match and the crowd are going nuts
Re: Would you be a wrestler?
If I had grown up in America I would have probably joined a wrestling school and given it ago.

Let's face it, you could see when Rock came back on RAW. Yeah he got an abnormally loud pop and reaction, but it meant the world to him.
The adrenaline rush you must get from going out there in front of all of those people and generating such a passionate reaction, be it positive or negative, must be second to none.
Re: Would you be a wrestler?
I really have never had the urge nor desire to be a wrestler and the more I discover from behind the curtain the less that urge takes me.
Chance of early death greatly increased: check
If not death then a remaining lifetime of being in tremendous pain: check
All my friends dying in their 30s-40s: check
A hugely inflated ego: check
Paranoia that everyone around me wishes to use me as a stepping stone: check
Having to humiliate myself with poor gimmicks if I urk someone backstage or simply to just remain in the spotlight: check
I'll just watch thanks.

Re: Would you be a wrestler?
Being realistic I don't have a high pain threshold and tend to be able to hurt myself just in normal life so being a wrestler probably isn't the best of jobs for me!
Extending things slightly being a heel manager or "owner" could be fun.

Have always thought about joining a wrestling school, but being 5'11 and 170 lbs doesn't exactly give you the best shot. I would also only want to do it if it was the glamorous lifestyle of the WWE and not the indies, which is really tough

Re: Would you be a wrestler?
I would honestly love to give it a go, but as stated, only if it was WWE. I'd like to think I'd be a high flyer, but I'd probably end up being a Randy Orton-esque character or HHH.
I've broken both my legs several times, and so they seem to heal quicker everytime, and I can deal with the pain now, so yeah, I can probably deal with the injuries.

Earthquake was one of them as a kid I genuinely feared, when he squashed damian I proper marked out.
Re: Would you be a wrestler?
Are the guys in the WWE the sizes and weights that they claim? I imagine that if people are 6ft they claim they are 6'3 etc to make them sound bigger and tougher... true?
