Are There Any "Perfect" Records
First topic message reminder :
Afternoon all,
I visit this site everyday when I'm in work and the constant of these topics is how a lot of the great fighters are missing particular names from their resume...I was wondering if there is a fighter with a near perfect or perfect resume? For example, everyone is in agreement that Sugar Ray Robinson is an ATG but there are still mentions of him not fighting EVERYBODY at the time that was deemed great around his weight class.
So my question, is there a near perfect or perfect resume and even if there is, would there still be fans picking holes in it?
(I'm sure there would be...)

The mature Tunney weighed 192 without an ounce of fat. You reckon he should cut off a leg to fight at middle ?
That was his walking weight. I wonder what his BMI was (its modern stuff windy - way too advanced for you. Got your Woodbines yet?). :-)
It was his FIGHTING WEIGHT.
I need something stronger than Woodbines for this. And of course I know what BMI is. I bought my Grandson one for Christmas. He rides it everywhere. It's done wonders for his body mass index, if there is such a thing.

Who Arreola? Getting beaten by an average Light Heavyweight doesn't say much for him does it.
And well done you can single out one opponent of Louis who was out of shape yet could and probably would knock out most heavyweights of today.
Dempsey didn't fight with intensity at all did he?

Fighting weight and walk around weight didn't vary much as they fought every week for wages.

Exactly my point.
How could he possibly have boiled down any further. The guy was moving almost as often as D4's goalposts in a Manny debate.

Obviously he didn't spend much time training. They lived on steak and sweet potato pie and greens. Hardly a diet to energise the body.(dont mention hatton, Bowe, toney, Arreola).

Those are your words not mine. But if it makes you feel like you've "won" the debate, then its all good.

Why should a boxer require a carburettor ? Is this some new training technique ?

I prefer not to. I regard archery as a visual spectacle, as opposed to aural.

I'm not asking about your sex life. At your age I thought you would be pottering about in the garden. Must be the modern nutrition. I told you it has added benefits.

Re: Are There Any "Perfect" Records
Nice to see this debate refuses to go quietly into the night, let me check if I am still keeping up are we still of the position that we want to believe a sport in which less people take part and those that do, do so less frequently it is reasonable to expect the standard to have improved.
Since I've has the odd beverage tonight will have to say logic be damned all makes perfect sense to me.
