How many Tennis 'Greats' from this list have you seen play during your tennis watching years, so far?
US Tennis Channel's '100 Greatest of All Time'
US broadcaster Tennis Channel has shown a five-part (1 hour each part) TV series. Opinions vary across historians.

This is a GOAT debate, plain and simple.

Re: US Tennis Channel's '100 Greatest of All Time'
Many problems with the list LF...
1. It is a combined list. They could have had two separate with 50 in each.
2. People wouldn't have seen half the players in the list so difficult to say if it is correct or not. There is a fat chance that recent "greats" get to the top of the list.

Agree with your observations, SPuranik.
I wish they had two separate lists for Men and Women.
Some of the people who contributed to this are apparently Tennis historians. I am sure Bud Collins (who is in his early 80s - born 1929) would have contributed his opinions.

Re: US Tennis Channel's '100 Greatest of All Time'
I hate those pro-us lists.
How come Lendl is behind all those US players from 8 to 17? is his career as complete as a stabbed champion?
Also heavy influenced by the most recent players. I am pretty sure that 10 years down the line, a few of them will drop down the list.
Lacoste? why higher than his musketeers pals? Cause of his Tshirt brand?
Hadn't Tiger Woods messed up his family life, I am sure they would have put him on this list.

Bad job. This kind of lists should not even been attempted.

Re: US Tennis Channel's '100 Greatest of All Time'
Even separate lists for each sex can be tedious - so many folk have attempted them, they're always guaranteed to generate heated and often repetitive debate, ranging from mild controversy to total disagreement, and no 'official' consensus can ever be reached ; no bad thing in itself - always assuming of course there is at least some sense and logic to begin with
However the minute I see a combined list for both men & women ........ I have to say I switch off completely

Yet, 606v2 tries to make such a list every day.
Pancho Gonzales at 35.
Tenez... it is a US channel with a US bias. If they had a way to make Roddick Top 10, it would have been done that way.

It's easy to take one gender out and see how the same sex compare with each other.
Having done that, it's still non sense, or certainly heavy weighted in favour of popular players.

My list consists of one player only - The Best, the rest are there just to provide the background

The comments are even more biased at times...hilarious.
One I agree with though is regarding Ivanisevic not making the top 100 when Chang does.

Yup, I am kinda stunned to see some names in the list, Mary Pierce should have been in top 10 let alone top 100, coz only way she could do a force entry into any tennis list of all time would be by her looks
I have seen only close to 30+ players live matches in that list, how ever i could recognize more than 85 players as i have read about them, have watched their match in replays etc.

Wasn't too impressed by the list. Pancho Gonzales at 35 doesn't look right to me, he should be top 10.

I am surprised that Yannick Noah made the top 100. One slam win and only reached one other slam semi in his career. Just my opinion mind.
