Could you be a Tennis WAG or HAB?
Coaches, Family and 'Teams' spend so much time watching their players game year in and year out. Mirka Federer is the ultimate tennis WAG. Having been in her man's corner from 2001 onwards has been amazing. Coupled with the travelling. Could you be a tennis WAG or HAB? If so with whom?
For me?
Sabine Lisicki.
Oh and if she is reading this I am Pisces and I like long walks

Tough life that would be....but I'd look good in the stands and wave to you all, trying to balance that large glass of ice cold in the other ....

Re: Could you be a Tennis WAG or HAB?
No!!!!
It looks very glamorous when you see the other half cheering, joyfully and tearfully, at the end of a great victory, but the sheer tedium of life on the tour for years on end always needing to get enough sleep, eat at prescribed times, leaving the best parties early (I am presuming you are going to be a very supportive spouse of a top player) it would take its toll after a year or two.
Having said that, there are many obvious compensations for the top players' wives, but the life as a spouse of a lower ranked player would certainly not be for me.
However very willing to accompany Monsieur Leconte on the Champions Tour

Have to agree with you TP, its probably not as glamorous as it appears to us. The grass is greener and all that jazz. By the way, congrats to Mirka, she was the topic of a question on eggheads today.

I could, but if I am to be Sharapova's hubby I would want her to be housewife........

I think Marion Bartoli would fit the French Maid role perfectly for you then!

Judging by the quality still of some of the woman's game I think the answer to the question would be absolutely no.
Still far too much mediocrity and all that appalling wailing and shrieking to put up with. And that's just on the tennis court.

You don't have to leave parties early, just sleep in a separate room and be up by midday/early afternoon to get to the match. Wear sunglasses, obviously. Brilliant.
Since the many unattractive male tennis players always have model girlfriends perhaps the recent crop of generally very attractive Eastern European women tennis players are looking for unattractive men for partners? No? Oops, I think I got the logic wrong.

Re: Could you be a Tennis WAG or HAB?
Before Sharapova, PM would have Kournikova, perhaps.
It is a very hard life. Think of Federer with Mirka and the Twins and being on the tour. I cannot recall anyone travelling with the spouse and family to be on tour, no matter what the luxuries are at the other end.
Clijsters has also done this for a bit.
Did Davenport also try it or did she just take a break?

in that case, you'd have to read them 1001 Arabian Nights and Other Tales, that should keep you a busy HAB for at least 3 tennis seasons ...

Re: Could you be a Tennis WAG or HAB?
When discussing the looks of female tennis players (and other sportswomen) why is it that you always get a couple of guys on the thread who will almost seem offended by the thought that these ladies are in any way attractive.
Always seems strange to me. I could almost understand if it was jealous women, but it always seems to be guys. I've noticed it happen on a number of forums.
Any amateur shrinks want a guess?
Anyone who's saying it's hard work for the likes of the Federers and Clijsters are wrong. These people are very rich, rich people employ people to stop things from being hard. If those kids don't have full-time nannies, I'd be very surprised.

Ah perhaps. But to the point that they have to go on a messageboard and convince the world that the likes of Maria Kirilenko and Domi Cibulkova are not particularly attractive women?
Surely there's something for everyone in that top 50 or so somewhere, I suppose you would generally have to like big, powerful gals.

The 'nannies' are very visible, and yes they have lots of money.
Are you implying this is a fake.... https://imgur.com/f8RZo
BTW, I am not begrudging the money Federers or Clijsters make. They have worked hard at it, to train and dedicate their life to Tennis.

No, I said they certainly did have nannies.
I was commenting about the people who were saying they had a particularly hard life.
I'm not begrudginging them it either. I would do the same given the same resources.

Re: Could you be a Tennis WAG or HAB?
I would have love to be a HAB for Hingis [I had a great crush for her], outside her I liked Mary Pierce, and Steffi Graff.
In the current crop I prefer Victoria Azarenka, for all her screams in court, I wanna maker her scream even more harder at home . Wozniaki,Sharapova, Ivanovic all will do, so I dont mind to be a HAB of any of the listed, but the preference will be Azarenka.

I had a thing for Hingis too way back whenever it was, the previous century I guess. Not a great beauty but so elegant in poise and movement, and so smart on court. Lovely.

Chris Evert for me too (although I imagine she could be really bossy ... not sure I could cope....), and I'm very much with droogle and his perfect description of Hingis aka 'The Swiss Miss'
(kemet : you weren't alone in wanting to know what a HAB is .... !)
ps .... and I do like Tracy Austin when she comes over for Wimby tv work. Has 'matured' really well, very articulate & clear. Seems very much at ease with herself now, considering all the difficulties of her early career

Could I be the husband of a fit, attractive and wealthy 20-something lady? Nah, doesn't appeal at all.
Don't understand why Sharapova is so highly 'rated' in these sorts of discussion - OK, she isn't a total moose, but I doubt she'd be far inside my top 20 for attractiveness from the WTA top 100.
Ana Ivanovic on the other hand
