Chris Jordan ... an opener?
I know it's early in the season and I might be a bit slow out of hibernation, but is the 'Jordan' scoring runs at the top of the order for us THE Chris Jordan - ie previously injury-prone fast-medium bowler and lower middle order batsman?
If so, when and where did that idea come from?

Probably find it's like the Tom Smith experiment at Lancs.

Re: Chris Jordan ... an opener?
Hi Simon - yes, it is the sams Chris 'River' Jordan.
Why is he opening in the current University match?
Well, he did open the batting a bit for the seconds last season. Furthermore, almost everyone else on the Surrey payroll (apart from Sir Trevor McDonald - don't ask!!) has been tried there in pre-season and found wanting.
It's not likely to be a long term option. It should be just to partner Rudolph the Reindeer (copyright CorporalH publications 2012) in the first CC match. After that, Davies will be back from bench warming duties with England and is expected to be Reindeer's regular opening partner. That's in spite of Davies stating at a members' forum last season that he didn't really like opening in the CC!
