Misspelled XV
Just my over-elaborate way of telling some posters (and a few journalists) to learn to spell
15. Lee Bryne
14. Morgan Stoddard
13. Casey Lualua
12. Manu Tuilangi
11. Tonerai Chavanga
10. Dan Bigger
9. Travis Knoyle

4. Richie Grey
3. Carl Haymans
2. Kevin Mealamu
1. Alex Corbisero
19. Tom Woods
20. Ben Young
22. Chris Chekai
Just a couple that have driven me mad over the years, there must be some I'm forgetting. Sorry it's mainly Welsh or Welsh-based, others may educate me on some of the common mispellings around their country or clubs.

Tuilangi can play 12. There must be bench spots for Ben Young and Tom Woods as well.

I think I can, good grief. I had to wait until Blues had bought him before being certain how it was spelt as everyone was spelling it differently. There's not even one Lua in it, let alone two

I swear some people make no effort whatsoever. Kinda diminishes any hope the human race had left.

This is the fault of people not being able to spell their own names
Ricky Flutey
Kerry Sweeney etc
Also Thom Evans is a problem. From what I understand that is his full name, not shortened from Thomas ( which most people would do as Tom).
Any Green(e), Clark(e) or similar always a nightmare.

It's not usually the spelling as much as the pronounciation - I almost cried with laughter the first time I heard Jiffy's "Emmanuel Hairy Knorr Donkey".

Re: Misspelled XV
It´s not just the difficult ones. I´ve seen some easy ones with duff spellings. Off the top of my head Kieran Read instead of Kieran Reid, Brad Thorn instead of Thorne, Carl Hayman inexplicably takes a plural s for many. Richie McCaw often is inexplicably spelled as Richie McCheat.
I try not to be the grammar police or mock people´s orthographic deficiencies but every so often when marking I find myself in need of letting off some steam. So if you´re orthographically challenged because you were never really good at spelling or because you played in the front row and weren´t a back with all the looks and intellect - that'll stir things up! - then you´re (not your) fine with me. Just stay out of my way when I´ve read 10 straight essays with no idea for what we use the apostrophe.
And by the way Biltong mate. It´s Bryce Lawrence. Not f***ing **** features. Don´t make me take out my red pen I use for marking.

Richie McCaw often is inexplicably spelled as Richie McCheat.
It is his beloved nickname as I witnessed it, not the way they spell it.

I was a frontrow and I can categorically state that my second language skills are not only eloquent, efficient and full of satire, but also versatile and diplomatic.
It´s Bryce Lawrence. Not f***ing **** features.
It isn't Bryce, it is Bruce.
Bruce - australia - benefit.

We should remove the B's from all their surnames.
Bryce - Bruce - Ruce - ruse - action or plan which is intended to deceive someone
Barnes - Arnes - Ar.......well you know where I am going with this one.
Ain't word association games just grand.

Ones that really bug me are when Ken Owens is constantly called Ken Owen, and when Gareth Owen is called Gareth Owens. Ken has an S, and Gareth doesn't. It's a real pet hate of mine as I am an Owens, and have had to correct my name so many times of letters from School/Banks/Work etc

My favourite incorrect pronunciation (and then spelling in the press) of his name was when Chris was incorrectly pronounced Colin by some muppet back around the '05 Lions tour.

Can I add in Alun Wyn Jones for a couple of reasons.
1.It's Alun not Alan
2. His surname is Jones, not Wyn Jones (Andrew Cotter)

Just out of interest does the 'Wyn' have any significance or is it just a middle name?

Re: Misspelled XV
It's there to narrow down the Jones name a little more, as it's quite a common name in Wales. If you're reading out roll call for training and you say Jones, nearly everybody says Aye. Wyn Jones and fewer answer.
They say John Smith is the most common English name but I don't know a single one. I would've thought John Thomas would be far more common. I'd say roughly 50 per cent of the population are in direct contact with a John Thomas on a daily basis and overwhelmingly more on an indirect basis.
