Who is the next PPV King?
Many of you know that Floyd Mayweather considers himself the PPV king of boxing and that is backed by fact.
Its odd to think how this could be as Mayweather is not a ko artist or 100 punch a round slugger. He is not the most exciting fighter around yet he puts bums on seats and the tv networks love him.
Its the old pantomine villian that keeps people interested. Floyd plays up to it and we all lap it up. It could be said Floyd is more exciting outside of the ring then inside it. Floyd does not have many fights left in him, he is 35 and I for one cannot see him fighting in 2014. So who , if anyone out there can fill his PPV shoes so to speak.
I can't think of any fighter around today or coming up who can generate the same interest in boxing that Floyd can. It can only mean more hurt for boxing as entertaining fighters draw attention. Ali, Tyson, Naz all had it. I wonder if mini Eunbanks can handle the sport inside the ring as well as Floyd but I doubt it. I just can't think of anyone who can carry the mantle of fighter and entertainer as well as Floyd.

Broner is a good shout but I find him a bit of an idiot.

He cant speak a word of English tho
Canelo and Broner seem to have something at least. I think Broner with his atics might being eyeing Floyds PPV crown as a fighter we love to hate.

Doesnt matter all that much when you're adored by every Mexican though...
Broners my pick.
Taking a slight risk and gunning for Deontay Wilder, reckon he might just be the way forward in HWs...
Gary Russel Jr to be amazing but sadly not make it as a rightful PPV Superstar, good to watch but low weight class and seems like a nice intelligent kid, that rarely sells.

Why are we so certain there will be a next PPV King? Boxing isn't as popular as it once was and the way it is being run isn't helping things, unless America produces a great heavyweight from somewhere we might not see another.

Broner has the mayweather appeal. Mayweather may not be Chavez or Henry Armstrong, but he isn't Hopkins. Bal in his lightweight rays he wa avert exciting. Quick hands, power accuracy. Doesn't throw 100 a round but lands more than most. Even vs Mosley and Ortiz he was a lot more aggressive and always looks good. His demolition of gatti and N'Dou was brilliant.
Canelo has the de la Hoya appeal. He will probably lose more than broner but it won't matter much to him.
I think rios could be a star also. He will be able to outmuscle and hussle any fighter at 135 and 140 and his style will put bums on seats. Not quite as big as mayweather is but can be a star. He pretty exciting outside the ring too

Would LOVE for Rios to get to 140 (If he already isnt) and give us FOTY against Maidana.
