Worst start to a season ever?

You have to hand it to Leicestershire. 1/3 in the third over is pretty special. At least it can only get better from there!

But a bit of a recovery from the lower order.... 229 - 8 is not bad considering they slumped to about 140 - 7.

I can actually do better than this, and the first game of the 2008 Herts Div 13 season - Welwyn Garden City V v Shenley Village IV (my team).

We batted first and only made about 135 after being 65-0.

Our veteran medium-pacer then clean bowled three of the Welwyn batsmen with our first three deliveries to take his first ever hat-trick and leave Welwyn 0-3 after 3 balls. Unfortunately we were short of other bowlers and they got home quite comfortably anyhow once a partnership got together.

Glam now 17 - 4 in reply, so it is now looking like Leics made one of the better starts to their season. Glam in so much trouble that BBC website shows them with three batsmen in at the same time....

25/5 at close. Ouch! Anyone know where young Nathan Buck is?

Fairplay ....looks like they are set to win this one with something to spare.
