Amir Khan will not defend title against Paul McCloskey
"Amir Khan will not defend his WBA light-welterweight title against Paul McCloskey after negotiations between the two camps broke down on Thursday.
It was believed that the two had previously agreed in principle to fight in Manchester's MEN Arena on 16 April.
A statement from McCloskey's promoter Barry Hearn branded Khan's offer to his fighter as "totally derisory".
"The deals placed on the table were an insult to Paul, an undefeated fighter and a European champion," said Hearn.
"You have to pay your opponents to step in the ring with you, and pay them fairly," he added.
The percentage share of ticket sales commission and pay-per-view revenue appear to have been the major sticking points between the two parties."

Is Khan asking for two much in this fight or is he reasonable in his offer.
Thoughts?

Thoughts? Hearn is a jackass. Its an honour to fight for a world title. So what if he isn't getting near the same amount as Khan. Mc couldn't fill a phone booth. It he fought and won, then he can dictate terms. I reckon the issue if that the contract stipulates that Khan would have promo rights on Mc should he win and BH wouldn't have that.

He shouldn't be getting the same amount as Khan.If the fight did happen, and it was on PPV,Amir Khan is the world champion-he'd be the one drawing the tickets and PPV sales. He's in the driving seat when dictating terms because he's world champion!

Apparently he was offered 3x his highest purse. What an eejit for turning the opportunity. If he wins, his life changes for the better. I reckon its more to do with BH than Mc.
