Hall of Shame
We have the HoF but should we have a 606v2 Hall of Shame to cast the spotlight on those who have done things to tarnish our good sport?
I was thinking more officials, refs, trainers etc as these guys get less attention and get away with their hands clean most of the time!
My first nominations for induction are:
Eugenia Williams - Judge who gave Holyfield the nod against Lewis.
Roger Tilleman - Refereed the Ottke vs Reid fight. Probably the worst performance you'll ever see and a classic example of a ref helping the home fighter.
Panama Lewis - 'Mixed bottle' exploits with Pryor in his 1st fight against Arguello and the disgusting incident with doctoring of gloves later in the 80's which ended the career of a young fighter and possibly contributed to his death!
Newton Campos & Louis Michel - Judges who awarded Ramirez the win against Whitaker.
Jack Woodruff, Mickey Vann & Franz Marti - Judges for the Whitaker vs Chavez fight. Not one had the fight in Sweat Pea's favour.
Who should join such infamous company?

Mike Tyson, Antonio Margarito and that guy who killed Max Kellermans brother. He hooked a guy with his gloves off because he never got a decision.
Frank Warren.

Ian John-Lewis : Scored Galahad Booth 120-109 despite Galahad being knocked down in the first.
The splinter-arsed judge who scored Shark Ishihara's 10 round fight with Tadafumi Miura 100-100.

Re: Hall of Shame
Not a bad idea - maybe a list of, say, ten founder members should be drawn up, similar to the Hall of Fame? Could do it via a poll / vote count? Could make for some interesting debate.

True, i was trying to aim less at fighters and more others in the sport but in this case, Resto does normally get less attention than Lewis. A certified scum bag

Re: Hall of Shame
Union Ian John lewis is a great shout he scored Lynes vs Purdy a draw when Lynes had clearly won by at least 5 rounds. I think he was a judge in the Cox vs sai fight with all the low blows and he was one of the judges who gave it to Cox.
I would like to nominate Junior Witter no real reason I just always hated him!
Carl Froch as well.

The bloke(s) who granted Brian Sutherland a professional boxing licence deserves to be in any boxing hall of shame. Check out Sutherland on YouTube. He has to be seen to be believed.

It was not the handy work of the Trussman. He was not 400lbs of supplements. He was 400lbs of deep fried chicken.

He also scored the Joe Ainscough v Wayne Reed fight in the Prizefighter 30-28 to Ainscough even though he clearly lost and was put on his backside in the last round.

Re: Hall of Shame
Ian John-Lewis would be a great start. The man is an absolute clown of monolithic proportions. A comically poor referee, a disgustingly incompetent judge and God only knows what else in between all of that.

Can't really disagree! He's not in the same league as people who have directly cheated the sport but has definitely provided a negative impact i.e. huge public exposure which imploded!

I don't know what's more ridiculous, the fact wilder managed to miss him or the reaction of the people behind him when he leant against the ropes
Tbh I think i would have ran away also, the ropes barely took him

Re: Hall of Shame
I like Wilder and believe he will go on to do ebtter than Fury, Pryce, Chsiora, Helenius or Mitchell. But GBP seriously need to let the guy loose.
He has the speed, skills, power and he's black which is apparently important according to guys like Steve Farhood and Al Bernstein who have both called for a great black hope in recent times.

Re: Hall of Shame
Roger Tilleman, Bob Arum, and Jose Suliman are 3 stonewall definites for an inaugural 606v2 Hall of Shame in my opinion.
I think it would be good to focus nominations on toe-rags like these guys who have consistently and knowingly tarnished the good name of the sport in order to further their own position rather than 'off the rails' boxers like, for example, Edwin Valero or James Butler, who have committed horrific, but one-off crimes outwith the context of boxing (but just happen to be boxers).

Arum played a big part in a lot of the fights involving Leonard, Duran, Hagler and Hearns which might save him.

Re: Hall of Shame
So are we deciding by net worth? For example, NAz car crash and imprisonment against an excellent spell at the top., 17 title fights, unification champion and a big reason why interest in the lower weights didnt die out. So he doesnt make it?
Re: Hall of Shame
Nas had been retired a few years when that happened he wouldn't deserve to be in it. Personally I would say you had to something that was detrimental to the sport and outweighs any good you did.

Just trying to find a standard your royal tubbiness - I've always thought Naz defeats more often that not anyone ranked above him in his weight classes.
