What sort of a place are you looking for Jenny?
Hotel in the city, B&B near the ground?
Just for the night of the game or are you hoping to do a bit of site seeing?
Car, bus or train?

Re: Ulster V Leinster 20/4/12
We would usually stay up but decided that we would drive this time (from the NW) as it was made expensive for hotels
Re: Ulster V Leinster 20/4/12
thanks Mrs P. Car, the night of the game, and not that fussed. Stayed in the mal mason in September for a mate's wedding. Nice but a bit pricey. Cheap or good value is what I am looking for I suppose.MrsP wrote:What sort of a place are you looking for Jenny?

Ibis near Queens is relatively cheap usually, not really fancy or anything but would do the job.
Re: Ulster V Leinster 20/4/12
This place is near to Stands pub, in the University area and has parking.
Can't give any recommendation as I don't know anyone who has used it but it is in a safe area with plenty of life and, by your own admission, within walking distance of Ravenhill.

Well I have the ibis for 60 juros room only with parking. Mal mason for 90 with breakfast but no parking. Those prices are for 2 in a twin room. One is cheap the other is good value. So either cheaper or better value. :-)
Or did you mean what price range to see my man boobs............

You could also try Premier Inn. One in Alfred St. and one in Cathedral Quarter around £60 - £65. Parking might be extra though.

Tara lodge look at or madisons. Tara lodge is rated number 1 on trip advisor but I think that is more down to the value. Heard a few leicester ones recommend it when they were over. Not sure if breakfast is included mind you. But it is just off botanic avenue so plenty of spots to eat anyway

Yea thats were we would usually stay if we're up at an Ulster game. It's handy for Ravenhill and there are loads of pubs and restaurants (including StandUlstermans pub ) within walking distance.
You can also walk to the lovely Botanic Gdns and visit the brilliant Ulster museum to clear the post match hangover in the morning too

Looks like both sides are resting a lot of frontliners this week.
With Leinster's 9 day turnaround to the semi and Ulster's 8, I think both sides will put out their HC team to get them gelled.
Could be a cracker. (As Frank Carson might have said)

A bit of the steam gone out of this now with Ulster's loss today.
Hope we can play again in the HC final. Let's face it Ulster will probably get a rest now the week before.
Leinster have by FAR the harder HC semi and are much less likely to make the HC final.

Not so sure Jen. Ulster won't want to go into the HEC SF off the back of two defeats.
I think if anything the loss today has cranked up the pressure.....

Re: Ulster V Leinster 20/4/12
I'm in two minds about this one.
On one hand.....
We cannot be caught and the game is meaningless in terms of our progression to the playoffs.
It may be in our interest to keep Ulster in the playoffs too. If we do meet in the HC, it would be good for us to give Ulster a game in the RDS the week before rather than give them a rest and have a hard game against the likes of Glasgow.
On the other hand......
We don't want to travel to Bordeaux on the back of a loss either.
Be good to give Ulster a reminder of who is boss (at the moment anyway)
And let's face it, no team take the field wanting to lose.
Dunno if Ulster will have the belly for beating us, Embra, Munster and then a Rabo semi, and even if they did, Munster would probably have to lose to Scarlets also for Ulster to get in, as I reckon both Glasgow and Ospreys will win their last 2 games.

Ooooooo. Oh no she di'n't!
That's what it comes down to- we may not go full strength but when it comes right down to it, I doubt many of us could stomach losing an interpro at Ravenhill. And we don't want to go to Dublin on the back of two defeats.

I suppose that does sound arrogant in hindsight.
What I meant was, it would be better for us to beat Ulster rather than give them confidence ahead of any possible other meeting in the next month or so.
If we go up there with our full team 9 days ahead of our hardest game of the season so far, I would think losing would not be an option we would like to consider.
If we rotate players then it would be less damaging.
We lost to Munster in Thomond a month before our HC semi in Croker 3 years ago, but we rested Bod and Fitzer in the game, and I think it may have lulled Munster into a false sense of security.
(Extra little joke in there for our Dutch readers)

What time do you finish rodders?

I'm not Rodders, have been to a few COD matches though.
My fella keeps telling me to join the ladies but I'm a bit of a pansy when it comes to contact of any kind (and I'm precious about my teeth)
What about yourself?
Hope you're able to make it up to Belfast. I had forgotten it was McLaughlins last home game

So a full team minus Ferris then!
I considered picking Kearney but I think Carr had a better game last week and his contract is up at the end of the season so he needs to impress.

Well we are without Afoa as well.
I think we need to see how Macklin gets on, so I would get him in straight away. If it isn't working then we can change it later on.
Not sure if its a good thing playing a full strength team but I wouldn't want a real hiding this close to the Semi-Final.
Of course we could get a hiding with a full team on as well

Oh yeah, Afoa out too. forgot that.
Was watching the breakdown on Setanta last night and they were showing highlights of Connacht v Ulster. The Conn backup loosehead was giving Court a tough time. Court is a good loosie, but you have to find someone else for TH. Do you think there’s a chance they’ll try him out at TH again with a view to starting him there next week?
Rodders, the teams are out tomorrow lunch time.

Most of us hope not Mick. Like someone else said, moving Court to TH weakens two positions. Keeping him where is is is the best option. Time to put faith in the likes of macklin.

I'll eat my hat if he doesn't play at TH for a fair chunk of the game.
I'd say he'll either start there and be replaced by Macklin for the last 20-30min or Macklin will start and Court will be switched across.
I'd imagine it will depend on how the coaching team feel Court did last week.

Also Leinster are going for a Grand Slam in the inter pros, 6 from 6.
Also Ulsters record against Leinster is terrible.
