So we are a bit unsure how much money is left in the pot to offer him a concrete contract. Think ideally we would like to keep him at the scarlets.
So fingers crossed we may keep hold of him? I hope so as he does seem a bit like Sal Finau, unarguable not local, however a Scarlet through and through.
That really got my hopes up, as I would be gutted to lose him, until Pioden squashed my hopes

He's been capped for the England Deaf Team, does that not count?

Also looks like we've missed out on Joe Tuineau.

Looks like he went for the money in Pro D2 rather than Heineken cup rugby with us.
Really hope the Nigel Davies story is not true!

Not looking good for the Scarlets if so. Head coach off, massively depleted pack and will miss a big chunk of the squad due to internationals.

If it is true then it would be a serious blow, and probably a return to the darker time of a few seasons ago. Not sure who would be around to be brought in to replace him either. Easterby?

Personally i think O'Sullivan would be a good choice, especially with the way the Scarlets play. But probably very unlikely

I'm also taking that Telegraph story with a massive pinch of salt. They have us down as Llanelli Scarlets so they can't be all that clued up about the rugby.
I really don't want Nigel to leave us

I would like Nige to be coaching in Wales up until he is capable of taking the Wales reins. He shows the qualities of a coach looking out for the best interests of Welsh rugby. TBH, I think he is bit too loyal to be leaving West Wales.

I can't see Fenby going back to Newcastle - especially as he's likely to have more gametime without Lamont there this year (though that doesn't fill me with huge amounts of confidence).
This story has me a bit worried, but then I also remember the Western Fail putting a story out last year that we'd be bust now and the Daily Mail picked it up and a few others. So hopefully this is one of those baseless stories.

It wouldn't be so bad if the Kris Phillips rumour turns out to be true.

Kris Phillips still has a lot to do to prove he's up to regional level, especially to be depended on for most of the season!

He'd be used in the LV cup games first and foremost I guess, until he develops. Your first choice would be North, L.Williams, Iongi and a recovered Stoddart. There is Iolo Williams you could look at. I think Phillips is better than your Fenby and better than the Ospreys Eli Walker and Luke Morgan. Wouldn't be the first quality player Ospreys let slip away.

North and L Williams will likely be away with Wales for half the season (and North will probably return injured if Gats keeps up his current tradition of playing North while he's injured), and I'd be very uncomfortable relying on a still developing and green Ionghi and two unproven players in Iolo Evans (I assume you mean) and Phillips on the wings - particularly as Stoddart isn't back yet and it will take him quite awhile to get back up to speed.
I also don't see how anyone can compare Phillips to Eli Walker or Fenby when Phillips has only played for Swansea in the prem while the other two have Pro12 experience and in Fenby's case HEC experience. Either way Phillips is going to require quite a bit of work to get up to Pro12 level, and until that time we need players to cover for both Liam and North, and someone to play Wing/FB (whichever Liam doesn't play) at the moment I feel Fenby is just ahead of Ionghi after some of his form at the end of the season - though I don't think Fenby is brilliant.

Walker has had HEC experience aswell, I think that player is well out of his depth. Yes it might sound odd, I just believe Kris Phillips to have acres more potentional than Eli and Fenby. I never knew why he was overlooked so often by the Ospreys. This is the same team that overlooked Halfpenny and were wrecking (up until his injury) Gareth Owens career might I add .

I'll wait for Kris to prove it first - my understanding though is that he (and Cai Griffiths if it's true) have been bought as cheap players who can be improved up to squad/1st team level slowly through the season so they can add strength and depth - rather than bought to replace any squad members

Phillips will be on one of those 7'scontracts with the wru like richie pugh, rgd & rhys jones. We'll only top up his contract, so he'll be cheap.

interesting -think he can be a liability at times. but he is a physically big lad, who has the ability to beat a player one on one. he has improved his skill set a lot since joining us - he is also well liked member of the squad. is he out of contract this summer?

K Phillips confirmed this morning signed to the Scarlets. Good luck to him. Be interesting to see how he gets on.

Well that's another winger gone... i wonder if they're actually going to start replacing them anytime soon. Eli Walker doesn't instill much confidence in me

With Eli, Hanno and Luke morgan unlikely to get Welsh call ups this season we're fine for wingers, especially as Isaacs can cover.
Kris Phillips could be a great signing for the Scarlets if they can improve his attitude in defence, which is the sole reason for him not getting much Rabo experience this season. North, Stoddart and Phillips could make a very dangerous back 3..

I don't have any confidence in Eli or Luke starting a Heineken cup game.

That's because they havent been given a chance, you may have said the same about Tipuric or Dirksen a season or two ago.
Shane Williams raves about Eli Walker, always gave the impression that he was his biggest competition within the squad, surely that counts for something?

Walker has played in the HC - He was terrible.
I have no idea why Prydie wasn't playing instead of him.

Morg slating the Ospreys for a change..... Kris Phillips had his chances earlier in the season and was poor at best. Prydie hadn't impressed Tandy since his comeback either so they've been moved on. No doubt Walker, Morgan will be given more games next year. Interesting to see where G Owen will fit in. Really hope he gets a good run in one posi
tion next season. I mean, these lads have played a handful of games and are getting critisized by non O's supporters who've no idea whats going on at the region.

I'm an Osprey's supporter and i think Walker has bee pretty s@%t for the most part. Luke Morgan doesn't look much better either, if people were criticising Phillips's defence then i wonder what they will say about him.
I really hope they play Gareth Owen at fullback and Fussell on the wing.

Big blow for the Scarlets if Nigel Davies is leaving - But at least they get an ex-all black THP.
