Connacht 2012-2013 Empty Connacht 2012-2013

Post by Brendan Tue 17 Apr 2012, 11:30 am

What do you think Connacht will be like in 2013?

For the frirst time in a long time Connacht are letting players go because they are not needed or to the standard as opposited to players who just were there till something better came along.
Even though Dan is unknown as to what he will be like the fact that they got him shows their stock is rising.

I think that against the 3 other Irish they will pick up more points as was shown last week Ulster now have to focus on two more then before. I think all three will make a 1/4 next year though munster might be the amlin.

I would expect Counnacht to be better then Italian no 2 and possibly Treviso but I think they will be about the same.

It all depends on Glasgow less linheen as I am not sure they will be as good. Also will edinburgh who have recuited well accually try in the Rabo more this year like Ulster where the Rabo is half and half.

Wales is hard to call. I think they will be better then Dragons and possibily Cardiff next year at least.

So I figure that Connacht should be disapionted if they don't get at least Eight and be within 15 of the playoffs at the end.

As for Euro
If in Amlin I would expect a 1/4. They can do it as has been shown and I they avoid one or two teams they'll be fine.
It is possible they could be in the HC we will say 50% at moment. As they showed this year no one will want them as a 4th seed as they will not give up TBP. Also with munster and Leinster as pot 1 they could get a french team so chances are they would have a welsh and lower english so I think 3rd would be a must if in the HC

Connacht 2012-2013 Empty Re: Connacht 2012-2013

Here’s a question. With all English teams out of Europe I guess they can only have 6 teams in Europe next year.
With a French team guaranteed to win the Amlin a 7th French team is also a certainty.

If Leinster or Ulster win the HC then Connacht are into the HC again next year.

I presume if Clermont win the HC then the runners up country will get the extra place but what if that’s Edinburgh or what if Edinburgh win the cup outright? Who gets the extra place?

If one country wins both it goes to the next unquailified team.

Last year there was a big debate if England had of won both it was between Perp and SF but thye had changed the points so there was talk of it being unfair.

But I think France will still be capped at Seven so that would be Bath I think

Would Counnacht being in the Amlin and getting the 1/4 or semi be bad

Connacht 2012-2013 Empty Re: Connacht 2012-2013

I predicted Connacht to beat Ulster. Though on a normal weekend when Ulster haven't just made the Hcup semis in one of their biggest performances I don't think they would beat Ulster. I can only presume Parks didn't get any other offers as I can't understand why he would want to go to Connacht even if Galway is nice and Connemara is up there with the most beautiful and amazing places in the world.

I think it will be much of the same from Connacht next year. Hopefully faloon and parks do well there and if they are in the Hcup they are much more competitive.

If Clermont win the HC then the 24th spot will go to the highest ranked team on the ERC rankings who are not French and have not already qualified.

Due to thje vagaries of the rankings this is likely to be an English club, and I think (if they survive) it may be Wasps - though Bath could also be in that mix.

(as every one else has said)

Connacht were one ranking point of being a 3rd seed last year.

They are toug at home and getting tougher, I think people always saw they low position in the Pro 12 and thought they were walk overs, but they really surprised Harilquins and Glouster fans this year.

I suspect they will be tougher again next year, mid table pro 12.

Everyone will want the new italian team in their group in the H-cup, and Cardiff blues as the top seed in your group.

If you think that they lost to Aroini and I don't think they will do that next year
Also they have lost 7 by 7or less.
How many TBP have they given up this year.

They will defo finish 9th as I think Dragons and Italy No 2 will only get about 20 points

So them, Cardiff, Treviso and a Scottish team will be arount the 40-50 mark depending how results go between them

Well, Connacht have a kicker now, so you would presume they will move up the table...

I also think that If Connacht can be btween 8-6 each year and Amlin 1/4 I think they would be more of a fourth team then a one year out team.

Would Leinster A or Muster A be so good if they could be Amlin 1/4 players.
Ulster are kind of facing this now. Would Faloon have gone to Connacht a few years back I think not, not where Ulster is now
