nfl draft not on tv
According to people online, there is no agreement in place for espn to show the draft.

I know Radio 5 live and 5 live sports extra are covering the draft quite extensively. Dunno whether Sky will show it or not

Re: nfl draft not on tv
I'm not really of fan of ESPN's draft coverage save Gruden.
So a few months back I signed up to NFL Network via NFL.com. Think it was 3 months for 2 and therefore £6 till May. Maybe that deal is still on.
Looking forward to Mayock, Eisen and co in HD in 12 nights time :-P

What TV do you have? You probably need a VGA or DVI.

I think it's a VGA cable you need as a google search comes up with the right shaped cable! I connect my laptop to my PC via the "RGB (PC IN)" slot on my TV (3 years old) and the same on my laptop.
Its the same connection pattern on the TV and the laptop. Thus the cable is male-male, with relatively small upside down trapezium shape.

Re: nfl draft not on tv
i might just use the tv in my room, is smaller but its still a 32" and my mate has told me I just need to connect a hdmi cable between my laptop and tv and that will give me both the picture and the sound, then i think ill just need to change the display settings on my laptop to the tv output

Re: nfl draft not on tv
Yeah that's the simplest thing. I've got 3 hdmi cables for my laptop and other things to connect to my tv. VGA cables only carry the picture, hdmi cables carry the sound too.
Re: nfl draft not on tv
yeah, seems as though i should be able to do it easily, i just need to buy a hdmi cable

Re: nfl draft not on tv
just got an hd cable and hooked it up to my tv, worked perfect, but dont think i want to mess around with resolution etc, the picture looks fine to me, its my terrible internet connection that will annoy me if it plays up

I think Sky Sports News are supposed to be covering but to what extent I don't know. They might cover the first few and then drop out to something else.

It's life for free on NFL.com so I would prefer their coverage.

I've heard NFLN and ESPN are going to stop showing players about to be drafted on the phone in the green room so Roger Goodell can make the surprises.

what time (in UK) does it all kick off?

1am I think. Knowing how they love to extend the drama, i'd say the first pick is at 1.30am

Yep 1am, as it starts at 8pm Eastern Time which is 5 hours behind us. El Capitan, they've got the 10 minute time limit per pick so the first pick should happen before 1:30.
Sounds like a good idea to me. More suspense as Goodell walks to the stage if we haven't just seen them on the phone.MockingJay33 wrote:I've heard NFLN and ESPN are going to stop showing players about to be drafted on the phone in the green room so Roger Goodell can make the surprises.

Definitely agree with that, would like to see the players not being informed till Goodell announces the pick, could see some great reactions!

Ironic that I'm actually hoping for a Claiborne this year...

I love that they won't be showing the players on the phone, it ruins it. The best moments in last years draft (like Locker at 8) were so great because they were surprises and we didn't know the pick before they were announced

I'm gonna try plugging my laptop into my TV and selecting extend screen. See if I can put two different players on fullscreen at the same time.

Re: nfl draft not on tv
So now we just need to persuade you to put the draft on the bigger screen
Realistically though the draft is all talk and no action so you should be fine watching the NHL.

Re: nfl draft not on tv
The sound carries so the player on my TV will be the one with sound on. Both TV and laptop are HD so there's no worries there.
I was watching MLB.tv and NFLN at the same time last night and I was surprised my processor could handle having both in full HD and it wasn't ever choppy.

Re: nfl draft not on tv
Draft could get stuttery just because of the number of people who will be watching it.MockingJay33 wrote:The sound carries so the player on my TV will be the one with sound on. Both TV and laptop are HD so there's no worries there.

I watch NFLN through Gamepass and I've never had any problems. Even on Sunday's watching Gameday Morning and actual games.
