Alright thank you, first time I've spent a birthday away from home, but my mum and step dad popped up to Lincoln for a visit yesterday, so despite the crippling hangover and the constant feeling that I was going to projectile vomit all day, it was really good.

All good, sort of. Noticed a glaring mistake I made in work late Friday evening so I'm full of Sunday dread today, knowing I have to admit to it and probably get shouted at. Hey-ho. Going to have a Final Fantasy 7 session this afternoon then have a few beers this evening to distract myself.

Your mum and step-dad bring any good food? That was always my favourite thing about my parents visiting me in Uni. Mum would always bring a massive homemade pie, or a full cooked chicken, or a massive cake. Always of a quantity that was impossible to eat

They bought me a massive birthday cake, not homemade unfortunately... They opted to take me out of dinner, but unfortunately, due to vast quantities of alcohol I smashed on Friday evening, I only managed a bowl of chips haha!

My parents still live in Wales, and me on the darkside of the Severn Bridge, so I still get loads of treats when they visit. And last time they came up, I'd told my mum that me and my wife were both on a diet (which we were), as a subtle forewarning that a cake is likely to go to waste.

She turned up with 3 massive platters of different cupcakes and genuinely said, without a hint of irony, "I know you're on a diet, so I only made small ones"

My parents usually skip the homemade foods and take me to the nearest ASDA and buy me in a fair whack. My mother looked at me yesterday and declared she's going to fatten me up...

That's a mother's summer job. Wean you off your liquid diet for a few months.

It'll be a tough task for her, seeing as I'm heading on a holiday with the lads and then again with my brothers haha!
