mystiroakey, Robbo played horribly for a whole session against Ronnie where he failed to get a break of 25+ in I think it was six or seven frames. Sub-standard by a mediocre player but horrific by standards the best players in the world set. Williams as well was a pale shadow of himself missing balls he never used to so I think that is what TSC is alluding do.

no i honestly think your statement is a joke- i really dont understand your view point at all. Infact it is beyond nonsense from my pov
If he has made it look easy to you thats because he has played well- Ronnie has played two vintage sessions and the rest of his play has been up there were any others best session.. Robbo would have beaten any other this tourny, he has allready played his and the tournaments toughest game

Have you lot seen any other games!!
the quality has been very low from everyone - ronnie has had no easier ride than any other- the next best player (ali carter) was gifted the end of the game by trump- and trump had an absolotute shocker.
You guys need to compare the overall quality- the players havent just played worse v ronnie- but better v everyone else! just because ronnie has been consitant isnt a bad thing!

This could easily be 17-5 or so. Stevens has been awful.

Yes, no one has played well for a whole match against Ronnie, regardless of whether he was potting them off the lampshades or not (where does that come from??) which he was been doing.
I will openly admit Ronnie's been the best player consistently during this WC though.

Re: Who will win this years World Championship?
So you admit that ronnie has played the best.. what the heck is the point in trying to devalue his maybe win(that hasnt even happened)
you are saying others have played badly v roonie- its ludicrus- you have to compare the overall quality , which has been just as low IN ALL THE OTHER GAMES- yet ronnie has played good the whole way through. That is the point you are missing!
its ronnie that has come out of the pack- not players playing badly v ronnie.
These tables have been immensly tough this year and that is one of the reasons why we have had so much scrappy stuff

A few of Jamie Jones' matches were high quality, especially v Higginson.

mystiroakey.
Would you say Robbo played anywhere near his best against Ronnie? Be truthful.
Would you say Matthew Stevens thus far has played anywhere near his best? Be truthful.
Would you say Mark Williams was like his old self against Ronnie? Again be truthful.
I'd answer no to all of them but to be fair Ronnie can only beat what he has in front of him.

Break building has been excellent this year but safety has been pretty poor. A lot of the players good at break building have made it to the later stages. Fast cloths.

your missing the point- no one has played there best bar ronnie and carter- tough tables-infact very tough tables has reduced the quailty. And at the highest level your only as good as your performnces at WC.
Its funny because the second session that you only saw as bad snooker from robbo, i was just watching ronnie knock in frame winning break after frame winning break.
answer this. TSC is trying to devalue ronnies performance in this WC, is that a fair assememnet of what has happened- you have to compare the mean average quality of play when you make that assesment as well

I'm not trying to devalue anything!!! You can only beat who's in front of you regardless of how they're playing.

Re: Who will win this years World Championship?
Ronnie has been the most consistent player so far no doubt without being spectacular or needing to be spectacular but you see he is missing some shots I wouldn't expect either. He has not been bullet-proof in quite a few frames and if anyone can push him really close then who knows how Ronnie will react?

I'd disagree TSC. Look at his long potting success and there are a number of players in the tournie with better stats. Even Matt has better such stats...or did.

well i think that prooves you are just making assumptions- his long potting has actually been the weakest part of his play..

I can't say anything right according to you can I? It's been terrific in this tournament from what I've seen. Used to be a huge weakness of his but it's gotten better.

So you havent seen much of this tourny yet you think all of ronnies opponents have played poor!!
How did you come to such an assumption?
I will give you a break and suggest its the anti ronnie vibe on here.

Well if you think Robbo, Williams and Stevens thus far have played anywhere near their best against Ronnie then I'd be surprised.

If anything I've wached too much of this tourny
I didn't watch much of Ronnie v Ebdon, saw some of Ronnie v MJW (the 2nd session mostly) and most of Robbo v Ronnie.
You say anti-Ronnie but when I praise his long game you say it's been poor

I will give you an example.
ronnie makes frame winning breaks in 4 out of 5 frames from his first chance in the break. Some on comes one here and asks-" what have i missed?"
5 posters litter the place with- robbo keeps missing and playing bad break offs!
propaganda at its best

Re: Who will win this years World Championship?
centuries are immaterial- its only about frame winners, secondly you attribute lack of centuries to the losing playing bad rather than attributing it to good play by the winner?
obviously its very likely to be a bit of both.

Right I am off to bed now to watch the final frame. Ronnie leads 5-2 and you feel this final frame is massive. Ronnie wins it and I'd say he has the match by the scruff of the neck but if Matt takes it he'll feel it is an escape to get out of the session just two behind considering how he has played.
