Gary Sykes
Another victim of the Peterson situation.
This was a real once in a lifetime opportunity for him. OK, he wasn't going to win but it was a chance for some exposure and, more importantly, it will have been a dream come true for him. GBP won't come knocking again and they're already apparently looking for another opponent for Broner.
To make it worse, he only lives down the road!

Re: Gary Sykes
I didn't even think about this to be honest!
Good point I feel for him, though part of me says this is a blessing in disguise Sykes could of got really hurt in this one.

Re: Gary Sykes
I don't think it's a bad thing, yes it was a once in a life time situation but the defeat he would probably have suffered would have been vicious and left more mental scars than I think he would be able to overcome.
He should go back, try to get another shot at Buckland or the EU/Commenwealth belts.

See what you're saying but it must be absolutely gutting to think you've got a world title shot on the undercard to one of the most anticipated bouts of the year, and then to have it all taken away by an idiot.
Similar thing happened with Anthony Crolla, did it not?

Agree As1079 feel for the guy although just wondering has this one officially been called off?
To be fair I had to give him little to no chance in this one.

Definitely off.
Can't post a look but there's a few sites running with it. Broner will apparently be fighting Vicente Escobedo instead (in July).

Re: Gary Sykes
Feel sorry for the lad but he didn't seem very confident In the pressers and would have been knocked out fairly easily.
Escobedo would actually be a good fights, and will actually competitive. He's high ranked and should give broner a couple of problems.
Would love broner to fight salido
