Gatland playing mind games again!
Gatland playing mind games again!
So it looks like he might make the Aus tour after all, is anyone else fed up with his mind games?
I bet the Aussies are worried now that the Messier of Welsh rugby is going to grace the Aussie shores with his wit and charisma.

If it is mind games, I highly doubt anyone is paying much attention to it anyway.
Usually there is a coach and players and management team, whether he comes or not is neither here nor there.
They still gonna go to Oz.

Re: Gatland playing mind games again!
Gatland does love his mind games alright. He tries it on with the ABs every time we meet, and to be honest, it's unbecoming. Was Edwards serious when he said gatland was the best coach out there at the moment? Unlikely.

Having not read the article yet - We've always known (well since the extent of the injury was known) that Gats would be on the tour in some capacity, the WRU said when Howley was confirmed to take over that Gats was expected to come in as a supporting figure maybe after the 1st test.

Why would anyone outside of Wales care if he is going on the tour or not?

Not me mate, gatland could fly to the moon this summer for all I care. Just agreed with OP that he likes his, so-called, 'mind games', and that one rolls their eyes when he does 'certain' things.

So the guy falls off a ladder, busts both his feet, requiring reconstructive surgery on one,he tells one of his staff that he might make it acroos the Tasman, for some part of a three week tour... And its mindgame???
Anyway on things Gatland related, I was watching a replay of some of the Schhools Firstxv rugby on the rugby channel from last weekend, and there running guys into holes , throwing some excellant passes and kicking goals was Brynn Gatland, playing for Hamilton Boys high.So while Gatty may not be able to much for Wales at the moment he can at least get to watch his own son play.

I suppose if you dig really deep you might find some mindgames in there.

Re: Gatland playing mind games again!
It's pretty a darn risky and elaborate mind game, I'll give him that. Falling off a ladder and busting both feet and requiring reconstructive surgery on one was perhaps taking the mind game too far. He could have just said to his team to warm up behind the posts during the oz anthem, and walk to his seat in the stand. Still, not really a laughing matter is it. Sorry Gats.

There is often a young lad wearing a Wales hoody walking around with Gatland when he is on the MS pitch and down the end of the tunnel. Is that his son? I can't find any behind the scenes clips, the ones before the game kicked off, but I think it was maestegmafia who posted them not long after the 6 Nations.

Thanks Maes, that's the one. And yes laurie, I guess that answers my question. Must have always had a soft spot for Wales, naming his son Bryn before moving here to coach...

He's a first five 8th,and compared to the size of the front rowers in that Hamilton Boys high team ist xv he will never be a Hoooker. When I watch these kids play, you can see the ones that come from a rugby environment that lives and breaths rugby, and this kid displays has that sort of nouse or call it rugby "smarts". I had never seen the kid play before but he played a big part in his teams thrashing of St.Peters (Hamilton) by about 30 points.

Ha ha ha... !
Don't say anything bad about the lovely Mrs G... She is a national treasure in Wales after the way she organised the town to look after our fans in Hamilton last year...
Though you never know eh...?
Might go and have word with my mrs about why our second son is a blonde when none of us are/were...!!!

Looks like Gatland negotiations not going like he plan. Roumour is he want to take over Auckland Blue and then make path to all blacks.
It never made sense to miss whole tour in some months because you stub the toe on ledder! I think WRU and Gatland have some break apart and now he change the mind.

Its not really even news, as Howley said in interview weeks ago that Warren Gatland would be in Australia with Wales in some capacity dependent on his recovery.
