Great signing by Roy in my opinion.

Its a very sensible signing, I wonder whether this means that the rumours of his brother Phil being on the coaching staff will end now?

I like this move. Hopefully he continues as a pundit though, I've enjoyed his analysis, hes surprising unbiased.
Commentating though...
(Hes still better than wheeling out Niall Quinn to orgasm over Man City)

It's been confirmed that he will continue in his work with Sky as well.

Strange considering Gary Neville admitted that for much of his international career he didn't really understand what the point was...
He's also had no coaching experience before.
I can understand why some would argue it's a good decision because he often as sound tactical analysis as a pundit and was a good player, but pundits have the obvious benefit of hindsight and good player doesn't necessarily translate into good coach.

Case Study: Kenny Dalglish.

...not to mention his involvement in a proposed strike back in 2004. Who's next? Jamie Carragher?

Ridiculous post.
I understand he hasn't had the best of times recently, but his record as a manager is a very decent one.
Liverpool (1985–1991, 2011– )
Football League First Division (3): 1985–86, 1987–88, 1989–90
FA Cup (2): 1985–86, 1988–89
Football League Cup (1): 2011–12
Charity Shield (4): 1986 (Shared) 1988, 1989, 1990 (Shared)
Blackburn Rovers (1991–1995)
FA Premier League (1): 1994–95
Football League Second Division Play Off Winners (1): 1991–92
Of good players becoming good coaches, he's actually an example of it happening. Roy Keane is an example of it not.
