Are there any West Brom wildcards that Woy might fancy taking to the Euros, Mat?
(If we ever become all franchisey and do stupid American names for our football teams, let it be known that I have just coined "The West Bromwich Wildcards" - What a Name!!!)
Any decent English players? What's Brunt?

I like how the gap between the teams seems to be closing. No team is anything special and that makes it so much more interesting.
I think next season will be a cracker.
It's a toss up between Avatar (Andy Carroll) and Holt as to who goes to Euros. Not like we have much to choose from so don't really mind which one we take.
Never heard that before Its spot on though!
I am with Demon - I really rate him too with the right service.
Re: Trash Talk redux
Best end to a season ever. Cheered Agueros goal like Newcastle had won the Champions league.
Thanks to Man City on behalf of every team in the world!!
Best moment? Djibril Cisse celebrating like a madman with Samir Nasri at full time!!

Re: Trash Talk redux
No in all seriousness I would take Holt
Holt is scoring the goals,Carroll is just throwing himself around.England don't have any goalscorers right now so Holty gets my pick for that reason alone.
Honestly hope Roy doesn't bottle it and take all the "golden" generation because I want to see some young, fresh and hungry players getting their chance.
And Nay,Aluko isn't fit to lace Hooper's boots

1989 still tops 2012. I think this because the two sides played each other on that night.
It comes very very close though!!!!

Brunty's Northern Ireland, he could be in the Olympic Football squad.
He wanted to take Foster, but he's said he isn't coming out of International retirment. Can't see any of our lads going to be honest.

Re: Trash Talk redux
You don't want Gary Hooper, I signed him for Wigan on a Football Manager 2012 save and he cost me my job, he didn't score a single goal.

Re: Trash Talk redux
So here is a few questions:
What squad do you take to the Euros?
Who is going to win the Euros?
Who will be the top scorer?
At which stage do England fail (or do they fail?) ?

Re: Trash Talk redux
I'll answer the top 1 when I have a bit more time later.
Who will win : Spain
Who will be top Scorer : Van Persie
At what stage do England fail : They won't. They will reach the quarter-finals, possibly semis, dependant on the draw, either of which is a success and should be treated as such.

Re: Trash Talk redux
My own answers:
England Squad:
Goalkeepers:Joe Hart,John Ruddy,Paul Robinson (think he can be coaxed out of retirement)
Defenders:John Terry,Phil Jagielka,Ashley Cole,Kyle Walker,Micah Richards,Leighton Baines,Phil Jones,Gary Cahill
Midfield:Scott Parker,Steven Gerrard,Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlain,Ashley Young,James Milner,Aaron Lennon,Adam Johnson
Strikers:Wayne Rooney,Grant Holt,Darren Bent,Danny Welbeck,Peter Crouch
Winners of Euros:
Germany
Top Scorer
Mario Gomez or Fernando Llorente
England's failure
I reckon England will sneak through the group and crash out in the quarters. But we will never have a better chance to shock the competition.I honestly believe the Euros are wide open

Re: Trash Talk redux
Morning All,
First time on here since Friday and must say amazing show. Obviously happy with the win for Trevor and McManus but great build up everywhere else. Logan, Saint, Patricks and Scorpion all look on the verge of kicking off and going on a rampage.
Looking forward to this weeks show also. Should get a promo up later today.

Re: Trash Talk redux
Is Steve Kean really that bad?
Is it not just that your team is a bit rubbish?
No offence like, but it irks a bit to see how he's been treated. It seems very unfair.

Re: Trash Talk redux
I agree Cass that a lot of it has gone over the line, and I understand while neutral fans may think we are harsh. But the guy make no mistake is an absolute plague. His positivity is baffling, his failure to accept his own mistakes is vastly annoying, the fact he got busted for drink driving and failed to even get fined by the club is questionable, a few Rovers fans have stories of meeting Kean outside of the football world and have been insulted by his wife. The fact we have spent 20 Million this year and still go down is ridiculous. His signing are rubbish (Other than Yakubu). Which in regard to Yakubu he actually didn’t even want to sign him, he bidded 3m for Jermaine Beckford but the owners went behind his back to sign Yakubu instead for 1m. His falling out with Rovers fans favorite players is stupid. Many people fail to realize that the only reason Steve Kean has a job is that 1) His agent are the same people advising our owners, 2) He got John Williams (A hero to Rovers Fans) fired. Not a single manager with his record would be still in a job…
The team had far more than enough quality to survive, with Dann, Robinson, Samba, Salgado, Hoilett, Olsson, Yakubu, all of these players would be in a mid table team

Re: Trash Talk redux
I can understand the "pain" Rovers fans must be going through at the moment. It really isn't nice to see morons take over your club and make a laughing stock of it and pull it in from the inside.
But I do think ultimately, if you look at the squads of the 17 teams above the relegation zone, none of them are worse than Blackburn's, Wolves' or Bolton's and deserved to be relegated in any of their places.
Obviously squad building is Kean's job - but you're saying yourself that the owners went above his head to sign Yakubu, so how much control did he even have over building the squad overall?
And you can't blame him for holding onto his job. It's the club's job to get rid of him if he's not good enough. Would you walk out of your job if you were doing it badly, with no other job to go to? I very much doubt he's had the kind of career where he has been able to put enough away to just quit and live off the luxury of savings for too long.
