Your England team
Ok so there are some plus points and some down sides but what would be your england 23? Tried and tested this time, next generation or a mix of the two?

Re: Your England team
Goalkeepers: Joe Hart/Rob Green/John Ruddy
Defenders: RB (Richards) LB (Cole, Gibbs) CB (Cahill,Lescott,Jones,Ferdinand)
Central Midfield: Scott Parker, Micheal Carrick, Steven Gerrard, James Milner
Wide Midfielders/Wingers: Theo Walcott, Ashley Young, Adam Johnson, Oxaide Chamberlain
Strikers: Wayne Rooney/Danny Welbeck/Andy Carroll/Peter Crouch
That eliminates the majority of the 'Golden Generation' and flops of 2010. Gives the squad a fresh look with a blend of youth but enough experience.
You can check out my view on the squad Hodgson announced, what it could mean and perhaps most scarily what the starting XI could well look like when we line up against France at my blog:

I'd go

Johnson / Richards
Ferdinand / Lescott
Cahill / Jones
Cole / Baines
Parker / Carrick / Barry
Gerrard / Lampard
Young / Sturridge
Milner / Chamberlain
Rooney / Bent
Welbeck / Carroll

Re: Your England team
You have to have three keepers Bathite it's in the rules.
I'm sure Korea tried to put a striker in the squad instead of a 3rd keeper and were told he could only play in goal.

Re: Your England team
Didn't realise it was a rule, just thought is was common practice. That's actually good news, means I don't have to include Gareth Barry!

Re: Your England team
Richards
Rio
Carrick
Crouch
A.Johnson
Should all have gone and deserved to have gone. Each of them brings something a bit different, with Richards athletic ability to get up and down the right flank, whilst also being a key part of cities season until the latter stages. Rio although past his best, is still a good defender, and has had a far better season than Terry. He also has more pace than Terry and contrary to belief, has player 3 games in 9 days a couple of times this season. Crouch can do what Carroll does but has better technical ability and always has an eye for goal. Carrick can pass a good ball and has started dictate play more often, England don't have a player like him in the squad.Adam Johnson has always looked good for England and has a good final ball on him. How Downing is in is anyone's guess.

Re: Your England team
Richards - So unlucky, played a lot better than Johnson this year and better defensively
Rio - Over Terry ever time, the right kind of leader that I want in my team
Carrick - Wouldn't have picked him if Wilshere was fit, but I prefer him to Barry
Crouch - I've always rated him and really like him as a player, just sadly Carroll is the younger option and his confidence is sky high right now
A.Johnson - Completely forgot about him, i'd have him in my squad ahead of Sturridge definitely. Got good pace, end product and can shoot, so would be a good impact sub
