Week 7 - Pitches
(Taking byes into account now, the southern league has the week off.)
Northern League pitches
Match 1
Yorkshire Carnegie vs. Durham Dynamos
The Yorkshire weather can only be said to be one thing for this week, grim. Overcast but humid, the ball is likely to swing all over the show, meaning that swingers of the ball will look to be rubbing their hands at the prospect of working this pitch. It will be low scoring and the if a batsman is brave and takes the bowlers on, that may just be the difference.
Match 2
Worcestershire Royals vs. Nottinghamshire Outlaws
Prolonged sunshine has led to the pitch being dry somewhat and meaning that the spinners might have a bit of joy. That said, the pitch is hard so those who can hit the deck hard might profit from uneven bounce which will keep the batsmen guessing throughout. Batsmen will score runs here though if they get in and play responsibly.
Match 3
Leicestershire Foxes vs. Lancashire Lightening
The Grace Road deck seems to be one that will favour the batsmen in which may essentially be a shoot out between the two orders. Bowlers may well struggle here, unless they can be miserly and keep things ticking over, whether they be seamers or spinners. This one will be decided by which side can outscore the other.

Sainty I could be wrong, but aren't these last week's fixtures (week six)?
Cos I'm fairly sure I've played Leics twice already

Re: Week 7 - Pitches
Looking at Kiwi's revised fixture list, these were for week 7, the week it's supposed to be. I wasn't too sure though if I'm honest.

Re: Week 7 - Pitches
We'll go with these. Then that should mean 4 weeks of fixtures for both leagues if I'm correct.
Kiwi's injuries don't affect him!

Phew, how did I manage to wriggle out of that one!
I'm pretty certain that the Northern League has the right matches in it to get us to the finish line with everyone playing each other once, home and away.

Batting Tactics:Solanki moves up to open in place of the injured Pietersen, Solanki looking to play the more attacking role of the openers. Amla is there as an insurance option, with the ability to pick up the pace when needed. Late-order hitting is provided by Shakib, Christian and Wilson.
Bowling tacitcs:Richardson and Junaid Khan replace the injured Meaker and Lee, with Azeem Rafiq keeping his place in the side. Richardson and Christian looking to exploit any bounce left at the start of the innings. Then the spinners Rafiq, Hafeez and Shakib look to take advantage of the dry nature of the pitch, with Junaid to bowl mostly at the death where he is so good.
Richardson:1,3,5
Junaid Khan:6,16,18,20
Christian:2,4,19
Shakib:7,9,11,13
Hafeez:8,10,15,17

Re: Week 7 - Pitches
Nottinghamshire Outlaws XI Vs. Worcs
David Warner
Alex Hales
Michael Lumb
AB de Villiers
James Taylor
David Hussey
Samit Patel
Stuart Broad
Lasith Malinga
Pat Cummins
Will Beer
Toss: Bowl first. My attack has plenty of pace and bounce to take advantage of the uneven surface and leave me chasing a low total.
Bowling: Malinga and Cummins will open the bowling. Malinga will only bowl one over as skidding it through is not suited to this wicket, before being replaced by the taller Broad. Cummins will use his raw 90mph pace to try and get some early wickets, Malinga will do the same, whilst Broad will hit the wicket hard and look to make use of the variable bounce. After the PP, Will Beer will come on and look to extract come turn from his leg spin. He has a great T20 record (Economy of around 6) and will get some turn from this pitch. Samit will bowl from the other end and try to rattle through his overs quickly and put the pressure on the batsmen. Malinga will return for a one over burst after Samit's second over, just to break things up, before Samit comes back. Broad and Malinga will all bowl at the death and this is a potent pace attack to close out an innings.
Malinga - 1, 12, 18, 20
Cummins - 2, 4, 6, 11
Broad - 3, 5, 17, 19
Beer - 7, 9, 13, 15
Patel - 8, 10, 14, 16
Hussey can bowl his off spin if someone gets tonked.
Batting: Warner and Hales will bat in there normal methods as none of Worcs bowlers are really suited to getting bounce of the cracks. Lumb, who is in great form, comes in at three and will play his shots as well with all three of these players trying to get us ahead of the rate early. De Villiers comes in earlier this week to give him time to play an innings that can effect the game and he will just play his natural game and he should score runs on this pitch. Taylor is the glue at 5 and he will run hard and rotate the strike to push the score along and keep us in touch whilst others do the blasting. This blasting can come from any one of De Villiers, Hussey, Patel or Broad in the final overs to get me over the line if necessary.

Re: Week 7 - Pitches
Yorkshire Tactics vs Durham
Cook
Denly
Rohit
Mahmood
Dhoni
Bairstow
Rashid
Bresnan
Shahzad
Rampaul
Warne
Toss: Bowl. Seamers to restrict Durham, hopefully setting up an easy chase.
Batting tactics: Cook and Denly will play slightly quite conservatively first up before getting progressively more attacking. Rohit and Azhar will look to provide a platform for Dhoni and Bairstow. The whole line up, down to Shahzad are all capable of clearing the ropes and have a lot of experience in these conditions. Sehwag left out due to nature of the pitch in favour of Cook.
Over allocation:
Rampaul 1,3,5,18.
Bresnan 2,4,17,19.
Shahzad 6,8,15,20.
Mahmood 7,9,11.
Warne 10,12,14,16.
Rashid 13.
Bowling tactics: Rampaul and Bresnan will look to take advantage of early swing with the new ball, forcing errors out of the top order. Shahzad will bowl full and look to restrict the scoring rate further. Azhar will bowl wicket to wicket in order force mistakes, using his experience and subtle variations. whereas Warne will do what do does best, attacking fields and intricate variations. Rashid will attempt to bowl defensively and restrict, forcing wickets through mistakes by the batsmen. Rampaul, Shahzad and Bresnan will return at the death. If a bowler has a shocker, Rashid or Mahmood could bowl more, or Rohit could fill in a couple of overs of off spin.

Re: Week 7 - Pitches
Sorry completely forgot I had tactics to post! (Thats dedication for you ) Will have to brief I'm afraid
Lancs tactics v Yorkshire
Injured: Harris & Anderson
1. Ryder (ov)
2. Mustard (wk)
3. Taylor (ov)
4. Williamson (ov) (u25)
5. Maynard (u25)
6. Hughes (ov) (u25)
7. Napier
8. Sammy (ov) (c)
9. Tredwell
10. Chapple
11. Kerrigan (u25)
With the pitch being a batters paradise and my two premier strike bowlers being injured I have gone for a strong batter lineup, with 1-10 all having first class hundreds and all capable of clearing the ropes
Summary - Tredwell, Sammy, Chapple, Hughes & Kerrigan come in for Anderson, Harris, Piolet, Brown & Johnson
Toss - bat first & create scoreboard pressure with runs on the board. Ryder will look to bat throughout, whilst still being agressive, once Williamson comes in however the roles will reverse, with Williamson primarily rotating the strike and allowing the likes of Ryder, Taylor, Mustard, Napier & Sammy to tee off. Napier and Sammy will have full licence to slog to their hearts content
Bowling
Chapple 1,3, 18,20
Sammy 2,4, 14, 16
Napier 5, 15, 17, 19
Tredwell 6,8,10,12
Kerrigan 7,9,11,13
We will use accruate, naggy bowlers like Chapple and Sammy to tie down the Leics batters by not offering them any pace or width to work with. Kerrigan and Tredwell will look to carry on their work, taking up all of the middle overs and really bogging down the Leics batsmen, looking to create pressure and using that to induce a mistake. Napier provides the pace in the absense of Jimmy and Harris, and he will look to provide contrast to the other four bowlers and really hurry up the batsment and use his pace (90mph+) to disturb the batsmen
