The Reminder: Goodbye Windy, I’ll Miss you on the Boards
Steroid abuse, big fights promoted, big fights lost; accusations and blame being pushed around like cards on a poker table. Top star names not fighting top star names, shame being associated with the sport we love.
Then Carl Froch stepped back into the ring.
In an age where boxing is constantly being shrouded in mystery, Carl Froch entered the squared circle to face an unbeaten and gifted gentleman in the brave Canadian, Lucien Bute. A class act in the build up and armed with several attributes that many thought would be too much for the Cobra, many had Carl written off.
Then the Cobra bit. And when he bit, he bit hard.
As a fan of the man I could not have envisaged a more spell binding performance. He simply had too much for the Canadian on the night: will, grit, movement and power, all traits that have been part of Froch’s arsenal since his career began, all traits too often ignored.
But yet again, he has risen.
After 8 genuine world-class fights on the bounce, with home and away legs, against various styles of elite level fighting, what is next for the man from Nottingham?
One thing is for certain… nothing, absolutely nothing, easy.
Kessler in a rematch and then a possible unification?
If Froch comes through victorious against the great Dane then talk of Britain’s best ever and hall of fame assurance cannot be ignored. Sometimes you simply have to applaud a man’s will to overcome the attributes of the men they face, and find the win.
Yet again Froch has done this, and this time, more clinically and with more punching power than he had ever done so before. Considering his amazing resume, that really is saying something.
Shout out to Human Windmill, “Windy” as I liked to call him. I hope you are at peace my 606 friend, and I send my loving thoughts to you and your family.
Let’s all touch gloves symbolically for Windy. Let’s make him proud, Boxing 606v2

We been touching gloves all week.
Froch has ignited the SM division and I for one can't wait to see what comes next

Kessler vs Froch is the modern day SM version of Haggler vs Hearns. That's how good a dust up with those two will be if they get back in the ring. Gatti vs Ward too, it's that kind of slugfest, although probably and hopefully with a bit more poise.
Froch by KO if they do fight, inside six rounds if it is in Nottingham, late if not.
War boys!!!
