I thought Joubert was good
Is a classic whinge though
How anyone could think we would have a weekend without it is beyond me.

Re: Craig Jouberts performance.....
I was at the game on Saturday night and have watched it twice since and I thought Joubert had a good game. He didn't make any howlers and let the game flow pretty well. The standard was consistent with the last 15 odd weeks of super rugby.
Australia were on the bad end of a 13-7 penalty count, how exactly did he favour us? If anyone was favoured, I'd say it was the team that got twice as many penalties.

I keep forgetting that facts have no place here.

I thought all three referees allowed the games to flow on the weekend, Walsh did start a little pedantic in the first ten minutes, but then settled after he saw himself a few times on the bigscreen.

To be fair it's not all Wales fans who blame the ref. There was one on this thread who was gracious in defeat.
It's a start, I guess.

Sorry - you are correct but it is a constant thme that to some / many Welsh fans in a defeat itw always the refs fault
Not xeonphobic - just tired of the " the ref robbed us" whinge after every wales defeat from s some / many fansslartibartfast wrote:TJ wrote:And the classic wales whinge - the ref was biased.

Re: Craig Jouberts performance.....
I felt he was slightly biased at scrum time towards the Aus pack, that was the only beef i had with him in this game.
why?
Touch ... Pause ... off to the shops ... Engage.
I swear Aus were going in before 'Engage' was being called through out the game. When ever Wales were marginally going in before the call, just after Aug starts to close in; he'd call a penalty in favour of Aus... just infuriating!

QuickBall - Spot On - What the feck was going on after touch-pause - And he picks on the number 8 of all people as if he's intentionally pushing early, Morgan for England got pinged as well - Soth the scrums out please.

If there's an early shove I'd rather see it being reset than a penalty or free kick - You can't legislate for 8 guys pushing at the same time with the touch pause differences between refs.

You can be happy he doesn't stutter, that would possibly make the pause so much longer.

A regular comment from a number of journalists / commentators from AUS, NZ and SA during the WC was that Wales lived offside pretty much the whole tournament.
Saw the same thing on weekend. Especially the defenders around the rucks were NEVER behind the last feet.

That's the whole point,
Rugby matches are usually 50/50 when it comes to reffing
The nature of the sport makes it probably the most difficult to ref perfectly.
Joubert did a good job on the weekend and any moaning is just soar grapes i'm afraid

Re: Craig Jouberts performance.....
I think he is a great ref and I have no complaints before or after the match.
What i will say is the Aussie players are far more used to dealing with that ref than we are. So hence may of had a better idea of what his strengths and weaknesses are as a ref and where and how to exploit him.
We can't blame the ref for the loss, we got penalised quite a few times for the same infringements, wouldn't of been better to adapt to the ref instead of getting penalised for the same things?
The best team won on the day, Wales had a decent go and got within a point but chasing the win we got caught out by a try from them. No shame in losing to Australia in Australia. Hell we have taken 60 point margin beatings out there in the past! We have a lot of things we can improve on, and it's not impossible we can turn this around. Heads up stay positive, and if the referee has issues with something were doing adapt to him, don't keep doing the same things!
Craig Joubert is a world class ref, one of the very best and we were lucky to have him, we could of had an Irish one, so look on the bright side!

Re: Craig Jouberts performance.....
Congraluation that it take TWO days before LOSER BINGO #3 : BLAME THE REFEREE is mark off on the card.
Joubert was consistent and fair and if Wales can't adapting to his ruling then they just not professional enough.
Wales a lot of times in the 6N play VERY fast rush defense and flirt with off side and Joubert keep them back and this make a problem to them.
Nigel Owens allow a lot of side entry and wrestle for the ball off the feet and if you wacthing the NZ v IRE game you see NZ adapt and do the same and nulling the effect of very fine #7 and #1 performance in make turn overs.
