Future flops? Empty Future flops?

I like many were very impressed with Selassie who plays for the Czechs. Many are proposing a move now to the EPL. Can you remember others who made a great impression at a tournament but flopped? Poborsky for example.

The French striker who signed for Newcastle after WC98(I think).

Cant remember his name.

Dont know how much of an impression he made on the tournament, think he scored a couple of goals.

One very recent one would be the Mexican Efrain Juarez, at 22 in 2010 had a very good world cup, Celtic bought him for 4 million. He then only made about ten starts, was then loaned out to Zaragoza for his second season and was hopeless there too, as of last week he's off back to Mexico for around a fifth of what he was bought for.

yeah Auxerre did well in flogging him to the PL but they managed an even better move by transferring Diomede to Liverpool 2 years later (think he only played 4 games there). Both him and guivarch were part of the 1998 squad and both didnt score a goal (with guivarch missing 3 easy ones in the final!). France was probably the only team to win a WC without any decent striker/forward.

Milan Baros.

Though in fairness he was crap before and after at Liverpool.

Baros doesn't have a terrible scoring record, averages 1 goal every 3 games over the course of his career certainly not terrible.

Diouf and Diao are two that stick out.

Incredibly Newcastle managed to get they're money back when they sold him to Rangers a season later.

I reckon if Eriksen of Denmark came to the Prem he would be rubbish. Bu then he is hardly setting the world alight at the Euros either
