To be honest, he was more likely to stay under 'Arry, now he could leave, but then his value would remain and you could sell him on anyway so I wouldn't worry about it. Also happened to be the best Dutch player against Portugal. Apart from Afellay of course Whistle

Afellay Laugh

Yeah Van Der Vaart was good, lovely finish. Just a shame the Dutch played as a bunch of individuals, although we shouldn't be surprised that a team with Arjen Robben in it doesn't work very well in terms of passing Laugh

Afellay is a very good player, probably outperformed Robben, Sneijder, RVP and Huntelaar but wasn't afforded the same amount of time on the pitch due to not being as big a name as those 4 mentioned. He'll be moving from Barcelona soon too, of that i'm sure.

Also I have a question for the wise ones.

5-3-2 with attacking fullbacks I have with Leichsteiner and Adriano should work. But do people see the formation and think......nah.

I like the formation, but I think people see the full backs struggling to make a real impact going forward, meaning you are quite narrow while attacking. If that makes sense Headscratch

Going to actually say Modric, I knew he was good but in every game for Croatia he was fantastic, he outplayed the likes of Xavi and Iniesta last night wish says a lot.

Totally agree he has showed that he can play at a very very high level and compete against the best.

AVB to Spurs?

Maybe Xavi and Iniesta are being shown up? When was the last time they played against another midfielder who could properly dictate the game like Pirlo and Modric? Alonso for Madrid maybe but he's more DM than CM.

picard

The six fingers and webbed feet joke is from the fact that inbred people have a higher rate of deformaties in their children.

-------------------Rooney----------------
------------------Welbeck----------------

With Kagawa, Giggs, Nani, Cleverley and Scholes to rotate.

Looks quality.

Still need a new RB IMO

The six fingers and webbed feet joke is from the fact that inbred people have a higher rate of deformaties in their children.

I'd rather we rotate Smalling, Jones, Rafael in the RB/CB positions I think these guys can be the future and should be given a chance instead of bringing in a established RB.

I see Smalling and Jones as you CB partnership of the future. In fact I think they will be the English CB partnership of the future. I'm not so sure about Rafael, can be a bit of a livewire. Also if Evra's form last season was anything to go by, I would be a little worried. But then he did have to deal with the whole Suarez thing

Evans is young himself so I doubt it will be straight forward as them just walking in, Evans should be our number 1 CB next season. Jones and Smalling will have to take thier chances playing RB or if someone is injured/Rested/Suspended in CB.

I would give Rafael time everyone is quick to have a go at him, I feel he is rash at times jumping in wheras standing his ground would be the better option. Evra has been poor for a long time he has no competition at LB, I would like Alba ideally but realistically we need to concentrate on other positions before LB.
