Basically, you have to pick a 16-25 man squad via the auction and the draft with a minimum of 8 U25s in the squad and 4 in the XI. The squad will be common for all formats but the ones who have retired from a particular format in international cricket will not be allowed to play in the playing XI for those matches. So squads have to be picked accordingly.

I dont intend to participate in this as I want to completely fair and impartial in running the league.

I would be, but I doubt there are enough posters on the cricket board to create a league

I would say if you're doing all 3 formats people won't be able to commit to that much.

Shanks, I'll be honest I've been considering a new league to start post EPL that would be similar to the Euro Div.

No actual teams but rather we make our own, minimum of 16 players in squad and similar to EPL in rules. Max 2 STAR players to start with. Minimum 8 under 25s in the squad.

Weekly matches for the league and a cup competition.

I was thinking of a similar league wherein we all build our own teams via auction and draft. Half the players in auction and half of them in draft.
Here it goes anyway:
First there will be an auction. After the auction all the players will be assigned a release value. The release value will be based on their qualities/international experience and not based on the price for which they were bought in the auction. So after assigning the release prices to individual players, quite naturally each squad will have a " Total Squad Value" which will be nothing but the aggregate of the release prices of the individual players in the squad. The draft order will be based on the squad value with the squad having the least value getting the oppurtunity to choose first and so on.

Shanks I think the teams should start off with a set budget and submit a list of 15 players with bids for them to the runner(s) via pm. The highest bid for each player wins the player.

But you can only have two STAR players to start with

So the list you would submit would be your 2 star players?

then after that you build the rest of your squad via auctions or something?

After the draft order is decided, trades will open. However any subsequent change in the "Squad Value" due to trading will not change the draft order.

3 injuries per team per week. Squads can be a maximum of 22 and a minimum of 16 with minimum of 8 under 25s in the squad and 4 in the starting XI. In case, we do a multiple formats league then players who have retired from a particular format at international level, for eg, KP, will not be able to play in the starting XI for the matches in that format. But the squad will be common for all 3 formats. So the squads must be picked intelligently.
But if people dont want a league based on all 3 formats then thats fine. We can do a league based on any one of the formats.
Anything more that you'd like to know?

Shanks I think it should be a maximum of 2 formats and probably Pro40 and t20, CC/Tests are too long to vote on and do tactics for as too many variables.

Personally t20 works very well for a league as minimum tactics are needed. Also i would keep a maximum of 5 overseas on in the starting x1

But there is nothing such as overseas in this league as its not based on the domestic competition of any country. You dont start with a squad. You have to build your own squads via auction and draft.

Still think it would be good "basing it" in england, improves peoples knowledge

Fair enough! Lets see what others think about it. We have already a league based on the IPL and the English FL T20.
So how about trying something different and have a league which isnt based on any domestic competition?

And a couple of months ago, Gregers, you told me that you were interested in doing a Fantasy League based on the CLT20. Now that would be something very interesting and different.
How do you plan to make it work?

you guys are talking about there being no 'overseas' players due to it being a draft, what about having the 2 catagories as international player and non international player?

Other 6 can include 1 Associate player.

How does that sound?

Shanks the clt20 was going to be 4 sides from England, 4 from South Africa, 4 from Australia and 4 from India. Each of them with the normal max 5 overseas players but obviously the domestic players changed based on where the side is based.

Maybe we could implement the same together? Each side is picked as above and then players can be bought in through foreigns?

Yep, I like the CLT20 idea. I will run it if you want.
