Brian Baker
He is the comeback kid and he is in the third round at Wimbledon.
But I have just looked at his draw.
In the third round he faces Benoit Paire of France. He could win that I reckon. That would put him in the fourth round where he could face Rosol or Kohlscreiber. Now to me he would have a decent chance in the 4th round as well and I could really see him getting to the Quarter Finals.
Thoughts?

Re: Brian Baker
Benoit Paire is not deserving of a 4th round at any slam tournament.
Baker will bake him so bagels.

Did Paire have time violations during his match or bump into his opponents? He won his match under the watchful eyes of the umpires, like Rosol.

I mean he doesn't have anything special about his game.
Even Andy M has great slices but Paire doesn't have ANYTHING.
Come on Baker !

Paire did well at Den Bosch. Lost to the eventual champion Ferrer there in SF.
There are no easy matches, but I personally would like the Baker Cinderella story to continue.

Yes you like to see a guy who sticks it out after so many trials and tribulations and finally cashes in on his promise. It is like watching a friend who is unlucky at love finally meet the perfect match. Sometimes it is all the sweeter when you have had to struggle and work so hard for it. I really like his game, great serve and backhand. Its a shame for USA tennis he couldn't stay healthy because he is a bigger talent and more polished as a ballstriker than any junior we had in his age range.
