Naked tennis
On a lightly summer breeze, with torrid scorching weather ahead, what a better chance to share new ideas, visions and stimulus on how to improve the game and make it, potentially, even more spectacular.
I am aware this topic may sound slightly controversial to some, although in reality it should not: weren't pherhaps the Greeks the first to introduce what probably was a first big international sporting event and weren't the ancien Olympic athlets competing "in the nude". Weren't the Roman followers of this tradition in their Circuses arenas?
The contemplation of various ages, costumes and traditions got me into thinking: what if similar let's call it "dressing code" were to be applied for example in professional tennis: would this news introduce a greater spectacular note to the overall show or would it be detrimental to the quality of the competitions?
And if such a style were adopted by the tennis associations, which player do you think will gain and be able to perform strongly under the new rules and who instead would find it more difficult to adapt?

It's a outstanding idea, and may have an unexpected positive effect on the women's game, adding to the incentive for them to lose those extra pounds that many seem to carry. I would fear for Serena though; without restraint she could do herself an injury.

Re: Naked tennis
I fully grasp your points implications.....yet, for one who won't excel under the new rules, others would probably do very well

Re: Naked tennis
But does this also count for the men? I think greek male athletes also performed naked? And would this be for every tournament or only at the Olympics? Imagine a naked wimbledon within a month.

I think if they brought this rule in it would put the equal pay debate to bed once and for all.

Re: Naked tennis
I would pay more attention to the women's game than ever before. And I would NEVER miss a Kirilenko match!
