Paul Appleby.
Surprised this hasn't had a mention but he was rushed to hospital on Friday night with a suspected bleed on the brain according to reports. Apparently he was fine in the arena but became drowsy and disorientated while driving home, here's wishing him a full recovery.

Echo the sentiments above, he is a warrior in the ring and always in entertaining fights.

He tweeted earlier that he's fine and moving up to lightweight so I don't know if the reports are true.

Hope that's true mate, one thing about Appleby is he's never in a boring fight but he's been knocked out badly a few times now and needs to consider his health.

The original articles were saying that he'd never fight again. Were they wrong?

They were wrong if it was due to his health, but his career may be over anyway after another heavy defeat.

Re: Paul Appleby.
Hopefully he is fine, but whether he ha Shia problem or not, I can't see him having much of a career
He is only 24 but he has shown signs of fading and is losing his punch resistance. He has had so many wars at domestic level and has been stopped a couple times. He is a true warrior but that style is a recipe for a short career.
Simpson stopped him at superfeather. Simpson is a good tidy fighter but was a fairly average sized featherweight and was a pretty light puncher. He shouldn't be stopping a much bigger guy like Appleby at 130. The first fight was very competitive so this fight should have made it easier for Appleby but its obvious he isn't the same fighter
He shouldnt go to lightweight as he will get hit by bigger men and will finally be smaller than his opponents which won't bear well for his style which at this point, won't be changed
His war with Walsh was as good as they come but he is finised now

Re: Paul Appleby.
No-one appears to have mentioned Scott Harrison's win on the undercard. He was pretty good by all accounts. Seems he's looking to take on the winner of Mitchll and Burns and I think that would be a really easy fight to make (if Harrison can keep his personal life under control)
