Sting's attackers
I know there are probably not many people in here that watch TNA. I watch it every week.
What I was wondering is who were Stings attackers last week? What was that all about?

Re: Sting's attackers
But why bring hime back for like 3 weeks then get rid of him again, I think it could be to do with him being the first inductee to the Hall of Fame and Jeff Jarrett not being to chuffed about it so had got 3 people (probably debutants) in to sort it out.

They don't know the reason yet, nando just explained why they took him away again. They brought him back for Hall of Fame and to wrestle Roode but are taking him away because they don't want him to be a part of the BFG series.

Ask TNA that question, I didn't decide to write Sting off of TV.

Maybe it's the same guys who abducted Joe in 09, they've probably been in jail for other offences and that explains why they haven't attacked anyone in the last few years CSI

Sting should have painted their faces.
Except they were wearing masks so he couldn't.

Re: Sting's attackers
It appears the mystery men who attacked Sting on TNA's Impact Wrestling have started a Twitter account - @TheAcesAnd8s. They've posted a few tweets, linking to the attack photos and video. The only Twitter account they are following is Sting's official account and their Twitter bio reads like this:
"The dead man's hand is a two-pair poker hand, namely aces and eights. Hold that hand and your fate is sealed! @Sting was first!"
Their tweets were re-tweeted by TNA writer Dave Lagana this week but he quickly deleted them. There's still no confirmation that the account is legit.

While this is commonly accepted as the dead mans hand, the earliest refence to a dead mans hand was in 1886 and have it as a full house, Jacks over 10's.

Re: Sting's attackers
Aces & Eights or Dead Man's Hand (the two black Aces & Eights) popularly originates from the hand Wild Bill Hickok was playing at the time of his death in DeadWood.
Over the years there has been many different speculations as to what the 5th card or kicker was or if he had even drawn one.

So does anyone have any more guesses as to who the Aces & Eights are ?
I was thinking one looked like Luke Gallows ?

Re: Sting's attackers
Wouldn't suprise me if one of them was Jeff Jarrett, actually if one of them isn't him I'll be suprised.
I've been debating whether the other two could be Chris Masters who has been in Ring Ka King, and John Morrison since it would be a big storyline if he came in.

Bit late I know but thought I'd reply anyway. Devon is the TV Champ and is supposed to defend his title every week on Impact.
Still, you're right that they have other "big" names that aren't in BFG. Is Crimson involved? Can't remember.
Maybe they just don't have any plausible storylines for Sting to be involved in just yet and the writers are beavering away, drawing one up as we speak...

Re: Sting's attackers
I see the mystery attackers got both Hogan and Sting (again) this Sunday.
I'm just wondering why they feel they need this, when they've been putting so much work into getting new talent and putting on good matches...with some good storylines to boot.
Are Hulk and the Stinger just feeling bored and in need of something to spice up their roles?

Is there no better way to get over new talent than going over wrestling icons?
I have no issues with this at all - its not for the belts and gives several guys the ability to be on TV.

Once we eventually find who who they are, that is...
But how is bushwacking a couple of icons going to get anyone over? I thought the way new talent got over was in the ring? Even without that, there is also the fact that one icon is retired and now the GM, while the other is a fair way past his prime.

Re: Sting's attackers
Sting can still go reasonably well.
Fair point on Hogan being retired but this will lead to a program for the attackers.
Is it really that different (in principal) to the Nexus? Newbies taking out the old guard?
Although, obviously, when its revealed to be Jim Duggan, Jarrett and Tatanka I will cry in to my beer!
TNA have been pretty spot on recently - I am happy to see where it goes for the time being.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Wes Brisco and Luke Gallows are currently working under the masks as the “Aces and Eights” attackers who took out Hulk Hogan and Sting.
also seen alot seem to think that Chris Masters and DH Smith are involved???

Re: Sting's attackers
Apparently though Gallows and Brisco are just being used as bodies for this angle, they're not going to be a part of the group when the 'big reveal' is finally done.
Hope TNA have some idea where they're going with this and we don't get another Main Event Mafia / Fortune type dealio.

I immediately thought to myself that one looks like Bully Ray and another looked like it was James Storm. Guessing they must have been Gallows and Brisco
