Really? That is interesting. Where are they trying to play him in the backs?

He's at 12 Rory. This could be a revelation from Schmidt. A big bustling speedster, playing alongside Macken.

So he is looking at converting Coughlan into a Roberts-esque 12? Interesting move, the guy has a lot of pace and power from what I saw of him in the JWC. I wonder if he will get a shot at wing or 13 too at some point in the future.
He could be the next Shane Horgan.

That's an interesting one. Moving a backrower to 12. We often propose crazy moves like that on forums, but you rarely see a coach actually do it in reality.

Very interesting move. I liked Coughlan in the Junior World Cup. Bruising player with a bit of pace. If he has got the hands then he could be a revelation at 12.

Apparently Tuilagi had a decent game for us last night , he's lost weight and gained some aggression .

Yes he did. Held onto everything for once and stopped his men dead in defence. Dan Evans and Tom Prydie stood out for our backs too. Other than our two internationals (obviously), Darren Waters did well until he was forced to withdraw, as did our two locks (Nimmo and Coombs)
To pick two for the purposes of this thread, I'll say Prydie and Dan Evans though.

So so. Made one great hit, then went for another one and nearly dropped off the tackle. Didn't get much ball in hand, as by the time he was on, we'd gone off the boil a bit.

Cool, I doubt the weather helped free flowing play ? The ref sounded quite whistle happy too

He is a big guy and pretty athletic with good hands. Have been impressed for a few years. Really hope it works.

Re: Rabbo players you recommend us to watch at your team this season?
TOM PRYDIE is hoping for a new lease of life at the Dragons to give Wales coach Warren Gatland something else to think about this season.
The 20-year-old former Osprey has been off the national scene since playing twice on the New Zealand tour in 2010.
But the four-times capped wing played very well for his new region in a highly-encouraging warm-up at Rodney Parade against Aviva Premiership big guns London Irish last night.
Prydie’s big boot, a relief for the Dragons after losing outside-half Jason Tovey to the Blues, saw him kick eight points as an all-round performance in both attack and defence by the team had the Exiles at sixes and sevens.
In fact, the Dragons went into the break 11-3 up as they made the Irish trip to Wales, in which they were caught up in a Friday night traffic jam, causing the game to be delayed for 15 minutes, more miserable by the minute.
The Dragons rucked well and kicked well to the corners, plus Andy Tuilagi, the big Samoan centre, caused havoc among the Irish defence on the crash ball, even giving former England number ten Shane Geraghty a warm season ‘welcome’ by thumping him on his back.
Within the first 10 minutes, the Dragons had signalled their intentions.
Prydie made Irish pay with an early penalty before outside-half Steffan Jones cut through the midfield to grab an unconverted try.
Welsh back-row stars Dan Lydiate and Toby Faletau rekindled their partnership that took both to a Six Nations Championships Grand Slam in the spring.
And centre Adam Hughes began in fine form, almost scoring a try after a grubber into the Irish try zone that just ran dead.
The scrum was still a problem during the opening period, but with an Irish side packed with big-time stars, including the Premiership’s top points scorer last season, full-back Tom Homer, who booted their only points before the break, the Exiles could not breach the home defence.
Hughes finally got his reward after the break when Jones sent out a neat pass right for the centre to dive in.
But Irish centre Steve Shingler, at the centre of a Wales versus Scotland nationality row last season, clawed Irish back into it with three penalties.
And, with new tenants Newport County sitting pretty on top of the Blue Square Premier after two big victories, the London Olympic Games feelgood factor certainly seems to have spread its way down the motorway to the south east corner of Wales.
Scorers
Dragons: Tries: Steffan Jones, Adam Hughes. Pens: Tom Prydie (2). Con: Prydie
London Irish: Pens: Tom Homer, Steve Shingler (3)
