You're not from Farranree in Cork are you?

Anyway, I would go Cowboys, they have the history and if they fix a few problems could be serious contenders. Patriots will challenge again but will probably fall short.

Well which ever of those two you choose you can be safe in the knowledge that they were both the Giants bitches for two games last season.

Ah, but Thomond you're forgetting the Deadskins aren't Super Bowl champions. Lol

Farranreeboy, out of those I'd go for the Patriots *shudders as typing*, the Cowboys are kind of like the team in every sport with delusions of grandeur. The Patriots are a lot more classy than the Cowboys and Bill Belichick is one hell of a coach. He's so good the Giants are 4-0 in Super Bowls with Bill on the sideline. Haha

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers unfortunately, they'll be back at some stage though. Even though I started supporting them in a 3-13 season, they will be back in the playoffs winth 3 years and contenders within 5.

You could argue the Cowboys are already down, finishing 3rd in the division for two years running and have one post season win since they won their last Super Bowl.

closer on the way down? as in, who'll be bad sooner? hmm. the cowboys are definitely not great, and there seems to be a lot of institutional buffoonery that will probably prevent them from being great any time soon.

that said, the Patriots are all on one man. Yes, they did well with Cassell in 08, but their defense was much better then. If Brady gets hurt, the Pats will nosedive quicker.

In terms of overall vibes of the two teams, I reckon you could equate the Cowboys & Pats to Liverpool and Man U (I hate football, and therefore am probably way off base but I think I can justify it)...

The Cowboys have a storied team history, filled with the brightest of past glories - but when it comes to the modern day team, they are always much-hyped, and still thought of as one of the better teams in the league, but in reality, always seem to fall short and disappoint.

The Patriots, meanwhile, have been arguably the most dominant team of recent times, under the watchful gaze of one of the most masterful coaches in football history - a coach who is renowned for his cold, businesslike, at times inhuman disposition, unafraid to make the most seemingly bizarre decisions no matter how the fanbase reacts if he believes it will continue the success of the team.

Probably a bit of a cack-handed analogy, but it's something to go on when it comes to choosing. Maybe.

Other way around. The Cowboys are team who are lacking what they used to be and the Patriots are one of the current powerhouses.

The Cowboys are no way anything like Man U, closer to Liverpool had their hey days in the 70's and again in the 90's.

And how are the Cowboys not great, those that have posted how bad you think they are perhaps you could add more, and please dont give me that 1 play off win in x years.

cherries - You know what's wrong with the Cleveland Browns?

They're named after a man, and they colours are horrid. Not to mention they suck and Cleveland could be renamed New Detroit.

Leedscowboys - the Cowboys are one of the most overrated teams in my time as an NFL fan, they're tied on 2 NFCE titles with the Giants and Eagles. Romo is just as bad as Sanchez, they have all the right ingredients to be a playoff team every year but they let their ego's get in the way and they play in the most ridiculous stadium.

They're a prime example of a team living on past glories with a good to decent team that think this year is their year, and it never is.

Romo is far better than Sanchez, your letting your Giants view cloud your judgment somewhat.

Anyway, I think the Cowboys are most definitely on the up (they couldn't have gone more down I suppose), the Patriots probably not on the way down but I don't know if they are on the way up either. That defence is still dodgy but their offence will cover up their problems until the playoffs at least.

The numbers would say otherwise, and yeah it's not all about numbers but the Jets had a good running game and a great defence until last year. Cowboys had a poor OL, shocking defence and no running gmae for years, it's not all on the QB

Cherries- he obviously doesn't want a wild card team as he seems to have put thought into his two options. Yes MJ33 we suck but that's because someone carted the good team off to Baltimore. Also what's wrong with being named after a man? Better than the Panthers (no such animal exists) or jets (who cares about planes) or dolphins (surely the girliest name anyone could think of?) or Bengals (never knew they were native to Cincinnati) or a number (49ers) at least the names original unlike Giants.

Thomond- Kitna had that same poor team and still out did Romo, when a 35 (I think) year old back up can do so well people say you should give him a fair shot at starting your franchise quarterback can't be well regarded, or have history on his side.

I think I would choose Cowboys, but that's because the Pats are too successful for me to support.

Romo is a top 7 talent QB outside of the elite Brady, Rodgers, Brees he is in the next group. His avg QB rating is one of the highest in the NFL there are not many others that have a better rating.

Derby - Bengals were named after a white tiger at the local Cincy zoo that was one of the city's biggest tourist attractions.

I'd read that the Bengals took their name from another Cincinnati Bengals team that played in 30s or 40s. Dunno where the earlier team got it's name from.

Totally agreed. Romo is in a different class compared to Sanchez who has done bugger all in the NFL himself.
